Let's Play X-Com Terror From The Deep
« on: December 29, 2010, 03:50:40 pm »

Well guys, I'm making a TFTD Let's Play to followup Azzuro's finished UFO Let's Play. This is gonna be similar, and if you guys want the original characters may or may not return...

That and I have a tendency to horribly fail missions that are considered easy. For example, Gill Men Port Attacks. They usually have the whole team murdered by a grenade or something

...Or you can reserve a new guy, using a format similar to this:
Name: Jon
Age/Gender/Race/whatever:
Bio: (optional, but I'll write your character based on this)
Preferred Weapons: (don't include stupid things like stun rods being only weapon)
Position: (Aquanaut, Pilot, SWP Operator, Magical Civilian, Free Thinking Lobsteman, anything! However Aliens are 1 or 2 time appearances.)

I'll take the first seven people, but others will have to wait for me to order more recruits, which takes three days or so. Don't forget that you can also have other important people like the scientists and engineers.

Roster

Bill Harvington

A man of SCIENCE! Bill has a natural inclination towards biology and xenobiology. He worked with the alien examination team in the last war, but now he deems it necessary to collect his own damn samples.

Anything sniper-rifle-y?

There's a Harpoon gun right now. Later, there will be much more.

Name: Quibble (Clone #15)
Age/Gender/Race/whatever: 20, technically, Caucasian, Male.
Bio: After the death of his first several clones Quibble, a member of XCOM, preferred to stay in the laboratory. However, his 14th clone and the survivor of the first war against the aliens died of natural causes, causing the 15th to step up to plate. Though he loathed it, he abandoned his wife to join XCOM for a war against the underwater menace.
Preferred Weapons: Whatever causes the biggest boom.

ME!

Haspen, 25yrs old. A freshmeat from Central Europe, with a thing for medium-sized rifles and grenades.

Also, likes sushi. No ties with that Haspen who died on Cydonia.

I'd submit The Poet if I didn't think he would die before the end, breaking continuity.

Instead, have his life partner.

Name: Gerald
Race: Human
Bio: The Poet's friend.
Preferred Weapons: Sniper-y.

I will join if you agree to lead me to glory and death.

I'd prefer the first though.

Name: Tarran
Age: 32
Bio: Spent three years in prison for a war crime he didn't commit, a five year war veteran of the USA. His aim may have been slightly weakened by his time in prison, but he's still willing to fight. Joined Xcom because he realized such a great threat cannot be ignored.
Preferred Weapons: Torpedo Launcher with Large High Explosive torpedoes.
Logged
Quote from: Phantom
Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Max VI: The sixth and final clone of MaximumZero, soldier from the first war against the alien menace. This particular clone has shown...mental instabilities, but less so than other copies. We hope to study the effects of cloning on the brain, and to see if clones made from clones are the cause of the instability, or if it was simply this soldier's stock.

Preferred method of exterminating aliens: Rifle-type weapons.
