I will make a beer thread!

I will be talking with my Dad (An expert in homebrewery.) about various beers.

Gentleman, I suggest to let the rats swim from this ship and get on mine.

Sir I do believe the discussion of such a substance such as beer is quite brutish and not worthy of a proper gentleman *sip*.

I don't even slightly recall what the boxes were labeled, but I can still recognize which packets have chamomile or some stimulant by smell. *Reads up on the different types of tea.* Yet the wikipedia articles don't tell me much about smell, so I really have no idea how the packets were prepared.
When I prepare the tea, I start by carefully superheating the water and attaching the tea pack (...bag) to a fine rock with honey or agave nectar. I then drop the tea bag into the water so that it is pinned down by the rock, and watch it explode furiously for a few moments, during which it darkens ~1/4 the way to black. Stirring it (I have a twisted spoon for evading scalding steam) and boiling it a time or two more darkens it the rest of the way.
I will occasionally remember to add milk.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

We had a booze thread somewhere, but bickering about which spiced rum was the best was disparaged as childish nonsense. Then we all hopped on Socialism Thread #32 and are now slinging ad hominem around like its a logical proof. I suppose a proper beer thread is in order, but not being a hopsologist I can't list enough to make a decent poll.

Also Russian tea. Seriously, nobody else has heard of it?

I have. It sadly slipped from my mind while making the poll, though.  :-[

And there's nothing like a hot cuppa in the morning. Damn cold here, and the tea makes it all better. :)

Sir I do believe the discussion of such a substance such as beer is quite brutish and not worthy of a proper gentleman *sip*.

Indeed, sir *sip*.

And boy I have to drink some chamomile again.

Since most people in the country tried to heat their tea during the same 5 minutes, they would experience brownouts. Thus they now have someone who watches that show in anticipation of the commercial to try to balance out the grid, occasionally borrowing energy from neighboring countries in an emergency.

Aren't the commercial breaks planned in advanced, at least enough to plan accordingly and not have to watch and spot the exact second a commercial break starts?

Anyway, count me in with the Earl Grey crowd. Nice and smooth tasting. Of course, tea is too broad to really compare them all (that's like asking me what my favorite food is). Simple mint tea (as in mint and only mint) is great in certain circumstances, as is chai or breakfast teas or any variety of herbal infusions.

The key word is "planned", and not all things always go according to plan. If something were to happen to make it drag on longer (for who knows waht reason), then the demand could be off by a couple minutes. that's all that's necessary to cause a brown out.

Btw, I just don't understand black tea. It's very bitter, and I like my tea more on the sweet side. It almsot doesn't matter what you mix it with either, I always taste it. Orange tea mixed with black tea? no.

It's the same with coffee btw, I can't stand the smell. Covering it with milk and sugar and cappacino whatever doesn't get rid of the coffee to me, and it's jsut... meh. Crazy how different taste buds can do that.

No! No! I will not massacre my children. Instead, I'll make them corpulent on crappy mass-produced quarry bush biscuits and questionably grown mushroom alcohol, and then send them into the military when they turn 12...

Doesn't need to be fancy, as long as you enjoy it. All tea drinkers welcome!

I know of one off my head: Russian Caravan, which is a blend of Oolong, Lapsang Souchong and Keemun.

Apparently tea is very popular in Russian prisons.

I brew a "family size" Luzianne black tea bag along with a regular size green tea bag and a white tea, add a cup of sugar, and pour that into 3 quarts of distilled water. Serve with lots of ice. Delicious and loaded with antioxidants!

P.S. Hemp is not pot. On a side note, I have a hemp shirt... very soft and comfy, and feels more durable than a cotton shirt. Q.v. Duluth Trading Company.

Drinking a cup of nice black tea and watching the snow right now. Reading Defender of the Imperium and waiting for power to go out. Cheerio all.

I have no idea what I've been drinking lately but it's only passable. Will have to make sure I go out for grocery shopping and pick up some good stuff.
