AND Phenom II x4 955 3.2 Ghz
6gb DDR3 RAM (It's clocked at 2000 but my motherboard only goes up to 1333 unless I OC, then it'll go up to 2000 like it's supposed to)
500GB HDD

Needless to say, it runs at 300+ FPS on a fresh embark, though that starts to drop considerably once I hit 100 dwarves.

See, that was interesting! For me one of the most fascinating things about DF is the fact that it is perfectly enjoyable on a budget laptop (not quite on a netbook, but then nothing is particularly enjoyable on one of those), but will challenge the biggest rediculously OC'd monster rig. I can't think of a game that would benefit from having a ludicrous 5Ghz of CPU power more?

Also: please post your bios settings because at 5Ghz I think you just won the game 

lol, well, I probably have the settings written down. It's been 8months or better since I had that machine up. I never did have it in a case, it just sat on my desk humming away.

...And apparently my memory is failing me quicker than I thought. It was DDR2 ram, not DDR3.

That's about what I have, but my i7 is only a 740QM at 1.73Ghz. Runs amazing for me. I had gotten so used to doing something else while I waited that I've been accidentally skipping entire seasons.

Though my most powerful computer is a Core 2 Quad Q6600 w/4GB RAM, i play most of my DF on my laptop (AMD Turion Dual-core --Yes, That AMD Turion, the type infamous for running waaaay too hot w/4gb ram).

Fresh embark of what? If you're running a computer that can't do over 300fps on any fresh embark... ouch.
