1st granite, 253
Welp. I’ m here…and let me tell you that this is a rather nice. Large rooms, defensible fortifications and plenty of food. But my boss Ral, wants this place heavily armed and ready to fight off anything that attempts to set foot in our turf. So heavy weaponry, strong military, and tall ass watchtowers are what we need.
Our military is somewhat weak, our crossbow dwarves  are bad shots and the discipline is almost none.
Hell, most of them don’t even have armor. They didn’t even frisk me when I walked in or question why I was here. I said a few words and they started listening to me.
   “I’m your new boss.”

2nd granite, 253
Their workshops are wide and unruly. If someone went emo in one of them, production would be held up for months, so I started working on blocking them off into 3x3 rooms.

15th granite, 253
They are working on moving the debris out of the workshops into a dumping pile.

18th granite, 253
Ordered all these mangy animals to be butchered.

19th granite, 253
Lets get this place ordered up and secured against invasion.

13th slate, 253
Started work on a trash compactor, expanded the wood stockpile, expanded the stockpile areas.
Our meat supply is going up as well as our tanned hide supply.

14th slate 253
A woodcrafter has been possessed

18th slate, 253
He started work. He grabbed some palm logs and a bit of hematite.

19th slate, 253
Work on project 147@!# started.

23rd slate, 253
Some migrants arrived.
Great more hands for slaving. Most of ‘em will be getting to work as stoneworkers…
Our population is now  83!?!?!
I’m going to go and tell the farmers to work on few other fields.

6th felsite, 253
Wow, 02 our new second in command of the barricaded chains (!?!?!?) killed an elephant while hunting when I told him to train. That’s the real dwarven way.

Yo, this may be kind of rude, but I want to take year 257, even though i already had a turn...
You see, I have MAJOR plans for this fort.
Well actually, I dont.
But a nice poll deciding what I should do would be nice! (I have done almost everything in the game at least once)
PS: I Just love this fort
PSS: filiusenox, if you get those marksdorfs to train, I will give you one of my home made NUCLEAR COOKIES!

Mister Murder's leather journal

9th felsite, 253
The elephant’s corpse should be rotting in our refuse pile.
Which is outside….That isn’t very safe.
Oh, yeah…crazy woodcrafter completed his work

12th felsite, 253
The garbage compactor is done

14th felsite, 253
Oh my jesus gods.
The damn green skins came out of the trees man. OUT OF THE TREES!

(The book switches to Mister Murder’s illegitimate son.)
Oh god another ambush oh and I think my dad’s dead.
Yep he’s dead. A friend of his, a suturer or something said he bet he could fix up MM real good if they brought him in.
If he can he can start his own religion.
But hey that’s a pretty table…

19th  Felsite, 253
And the elves come…
Good. Maybe they can provide the gobos some entertainment.
Wow. Our military was incredible!
The greenies killed 15 of ours and we killed 3 goblins.
Three! That’s amazing!
Ordered some armor made for a new more powerful military.
Using swords, like real men. Dwarves.
The elves are dead.

20th felsite, 253
Okay your not going to believe this crap.
My dad’s boss-Ral- just sent me a homing pigeon. So it seems that im supposed the take control of the fortress and make it a military efficient place.
Or I have to go to Icehell.

21st felsite, 253
We don’t have any leather workers.

2nd hematite, 253
Its apparently summer now. It feels LIKE ITS ALWAYS SUMMER.
The magma forges have been designated.

18th hematite, 253
The first steel shortsword has been made and I took it.

26th Hematite, 253
Some guy has been elected mayor. Good for him.
But I swear I’ll pummel him if he starts demanding damn things.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot.
The new meeting hall/ control room is being built

27th hematite, 253
OH GODDAMN MAYOR. Cabinets really? All the power at your disposal and you freaking order cabinets made? That guy is an IDOIT.

8th malachite, 253
The NEW military is almost all equipped. My daughter MMIII is in my squad as well as 01,02, and 03. We are all wearing leather armor and have steel swords. I just need the iron to get done for smelting the breastplates and then we will need to train for a year or two…
((Don’t screw with my squad please.))

I picked 257 because it gives other people to play before me.
But if 254 is ok...I WILL TAKE  IT!

It takes more than one year to train up an unstoppable killer steel-clad squad. The Danger room needed completing last I checked, and the smelters need to churn out steel, and then the forges need to forge shields, armor, and weapons, and then the soldiers need uniforms assigned, and to spend time training in said geer.

It will require teamwork.

*From Mister Murder's leather journal*

12TH malachite, 253
We still need three more swords for the military and four more bars for the breastplates.

13th malachite, 253
The new meeting hall is smooth as well as the new mayor’s house, but we still have to engrave the latter.

15th malachite, 253
The levers are getting hooked up.

18th malachite, 253
Started moving all the statues into the new dining hall. We need some more….
Oh, I ordered the entrance and roadways smoothed .
Some migrants attempted to come, but they were brutally killed by the gobbos. Bringing our death count up to…
You know? Never mind…

27th malachite, 253
Ordered some Pig tails to be planted.
The iron for the breastplates is done.

2nd galena, 253
The statues are placed. We are removing the tables from the old hall to move into the new hall.

4th galena, 253
A jeweler has been possessed, he promptly grabbed a rough tiger iron and went to work.

9th galena, 253
The jeweler has finished it. A large tiger iron menacing with bands of tiger iron.
Awesome.
We finished furnishing the new meeting hall.
We started work on the hospital…We need like six beds and two tables as well as some chests.

13th galena., 253
Humies have come. Maybe their guards can kill these gobbo ambushers.
And then a siege arrives.
Joy.
Now we are going to be at war with the humans.

(UGH THE DATE IS BLOCKED BY THE FPS COUNTER.)

Sometime in 253
I got a ballista going and some guy is forging the breastplates.
I expanded the food stockpile a bit and ordered some barrels made as well as some brew.
Running out of wood.
We currently have 288 meat and 853 units of edible plants as well as 57 pig tails and 12 sweet pods.

The ballista works like a charm.
(Erm...I seemed to have been the most unluckiest player ever or just horrible at playing.)

Can I have another turn as well or did I FUBAR it up too much on my first turn?

Of course you can play again, it's just a game after all! You're up for the next available year.

But it wasn't FUBAR, no sir, it was a deliberate act of treason that you sent our army to be slain by the enemy. You knew in advance that they were ill equipped, and I quote "Our military is somewhat weak, our crossbow dwarves  are bad shots and the discipline is almost none. Hell, most of them don’t even have armor." and you had a fortress with a gate and guard tower and traps at your disposal. No, it was no accident that they died. It was a decision to send them to die.

Does this make you a bad commander? You chose to lose your assets. The question is what are you going to do about it? Do you think you can stand to have even more assets? Would exercise help? The really nice thing about a game is that you can try again.

PS: Can you upload your save to dffd when you get done, and post it here please? So other people can play too.

 ;D
Treason...?

16th limestone, 253
Our armor is done and we are starting to work on the new northwest tower.

25th limestone, 253
It’s a bit slow here.
The first floor of the tower is done.

26th limestone, 253
Work on the tower is continuing.

15th sandstone, 253
Second level of the tower is done and work is beginning on the third.
Ordered some animals to be butchered and the fort to be expanded a bit.

19th sandstone, 253
Ordered some memorials to be made for the dwarves who died.

20th sandstone, 253
The new add-on is being smoothed .

22nd sandstone, 253
Added on to the booze stockpile.

17th timber, 253
Been busy lately but ANOTHER SEIGE ARRIVED so I had to write in this book.
I’m thinking of retiring early.
(I think you should totally skip me if you don’t want to play a fortress under constant siege with no military oh and im giving up the save a bit early.)
