Sad enough to come onto the forums on Christmas
« on: December 25, 2010, 07:03:36 am »

I'll know roughly how many of you were sad enough to visit the forums by the view count. You have already contributed to this thread, just be reading this.

I don't like Christmas, but I understand it's very popular.

For once it looks like i'll actually get the thing I ask for every year: to be left alone*.

Score!

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Why don't you like it, especially in the DF general discussion? :)
Plus, we do not celebrate Christmas in Russia, we have a character like Santa for the New Year. But anyway, merry christmas to those who celebrate it!

I don't do Christmas because I am usually on duty, but I do buy presents for people (usually the fiancée and her family (don't want them to think I am tight!) and my siblings kids.  I didn't realise you were Russian Deon!  You're English is so good you'd think you were a native speaker.

New year Santa? That's how he does the entire world... he's split off the Russians so that he can deal with them later!

I don't like Christmas because normally people demand things of me, like my continued presence, not relaxing, family events that knacker me, etc.

Better than yours, Standing. It's your, not you're English :D

It's a good thing I don't mind being by myself(which (un)surprisingly, is different from being alone), since this Christmas was once again spent by myself, just chilling, sitting back and screwing around with my computer. DF especially, some 360 gaming too.

Was great. Didn't have to go "damn I hate parties" and so on. Sure, I was invited to some dinner thing but god damn I couldn't bother going. Especially since someone has to tend to the animals and so on. Too busy, too tired, it's just another day when you live and work at a farm.

In Sweden we do all christmas stuff on the 24:th. But i don't usually lika christmas. But this year i got a external hard drive. So now i got a lot of free space on my hard drive so i can play DF at a faster pace.

I am pretty sure that's not how that works.

Non-Anglophone ethnicity does not a bad writer make.  ::)

Merry Chrismas, erryone. Got a book on C++, some sweets and a hard drive.

External hard drives tend to have lower bandwidths than externals IIRC. Besides, DF does not use the hard drive all that much. Focus on CPU or RAM.
