[RESPONSIBILITY:TAME_EXOTICS] not working
« on: December 25, 2010, 04:08:55 am »

So I copied the appointable dungeon master position from Genesis. I have an appointed dungeon keeper with a suitable office and Animal Training enabled, a kennel, and three caged hoary marmots right next to the kennel. Why can't I tame them?

Actually, on second thought, should it be EXOTIC instead of EXOTICS?

It doesn't work at all. You'll have to replace all the instances of PET_EXOTIC with PET.

I do believe there is, yes. However, this forum gets more visits than the modding forum, since if you're in there you're generally looking to either make or download a mod.

Are you sure you put it in the right file.
Which file did you add it to?

Otherwise the it might only take effect after you start a new game.

This was between games, and I added it to entity_default.txt, replacing the vanilla DM.

My appointable dungeon master (of my own design, not copied from somewhere, though I imagine it should look similar enough, just added the lines [APPOINTED_BY:EXPEDITION_LEADER] and [APPOINTED_BY:MAYOR]) reads [RESPONSIBILITY:TAME_EXOTICS], so that should be the right string. Make sure the rest of him wasn't altered,

Spoiler: My Dungeon Master Code (click to show/hide)

And this really should go in modding, yes this forum gets more traffic but that's not an excuse to use the improper forum for a given question.

Do you have the [POSITION:EXPEDITION_LEADER] still intact?

Was it the same world? If so, did you alter the raws in the existing world's save file or just the main raw? If the latter, it won'r work. You have to do it for both; future worlds will be generated with the altered file, but previously existing worlds will still use the original information.
