Merry Christmas everyone. My present this is more abstract, and I'm the only one that's really appreciating it:

I'm glad that this year I have such a good friend, and that I'm staying over his house for the holidays. This is a concept I'd have not even dreamed of last year, but has become reality for this one. I am overjoyed, even if his house antagonizes my asthma like no other.

A stereo, some sweet headphones, all (ALL) of those old Toho or Showa or whatever Godzilla movies (which are awesome), an extremely nice hardback copy of The Hobbit which I was dying to read again and some other cool stuff.

Myself, I got some business wear and ties, and a sweatervest that would turn Pat Boone green with envy.  And a GPS thing for my car.  My father promised to pay for window tinting for it too.

Remains to be seen if I'll get my external drive working; without it, all my Steam games will be hard to play.

I got a new Razor Lycosa to replace my old one, an new shirt, a wooden twisting puzzle, tons of junk food, and loads of cash from relatives.
I think I'll go pick up a mouse to match my new keyboard with the money.

Also, my sister got a wedding ring + proposal for Christmas.
It was actually pretty epic.

She just kept opening the boxes and there just kept being more boxes.
Then when she opened the smallest one there was an empty ring box.
Suddenly her boyfriend appeared out of the kitchen (which is crazy because he lives two hundred miles away)
 and brought out the ring and got on one knee.

It was a really neat way to propose in front of the family.

I'm really happy for her.

I've gotten $50 so far. I spent the $50 on Steam games (ME, ME2, and NV). I'm getting $100 tomorrow though. Planning to spend $50 more on games (DA and something else), then the other $50 on... books or something I think.

The hints on my snow shovel is that I don't have a snow shovel at my apartment and my parents knew that.

Also, a snow shovel is all I get.

But I knew about that beforehand and there are very good reasons for that so I am fine with it

I got a trilby, a belt, three shirts, a couple of games I already owned/have played through, an eighty-dollar electronics-store voucher, and I'll be getting around 500 bucks of laptop during the post-Christmas sales.

Dunno what I got yet - just woke up from a sound sleep and it's only been a couple hours since the 'rents crashed.

EDIT: Well, I found out that I'm on academic probation. FML.

Shirt, sweater, Christmas kitten hand towel, Inception DVD, chocolate, Warhammer 40K book ("The First Heretic"), a Green Lantern TPB, a Superman TPB, a Zip Snip powered cutter (ironically, the Zip Snip itself was inside one of those Armok-accursed plastic clamshells), a bamboo cutting board, some cash, Ben Stein's "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" DVD, and a canister of Monkey Butt calamine powder.

Yes, my parents rock hard.  I also Steam'd Borderlands for myself, got a sweet microsuede sports jacket, and some high-pressure sodium lamp ballasts.

[Among other things] I got my mom a Sansa MP3 player. "Now I'm in the 21st century!" she cooed.
