I've had a few music people say that there are only so many basic music structures, and it is mathematically impossible for anybody to come up with something original, though. Criticizing a piece of music for being unoriginal is criticizing almost every piece of music that exists.

that is only true in a very narrow definition of music.

Back to the OP for a second. It's not that he has success, it's that creepy little fangirls have a fucking forumdevoted to fantasizing over marrying him and shit, AND HE'S YOUNGER THAN I AM. That and he really can't sing, it's all autotune and synthetics.
I harp on the Jonas Brothers for the exact same reason, but at least one or two of them are over 18.
And hey, if it were me in his shoes, I'd be really creeped out.

I wonder what happens when the kid's voice finally cracks. Or if it ever will...

Back to the OP for a second.
I'd like also to encourage people to stay on topic, please.

That and he really can't sing, it's all autotune and synthetics.

I've listen on some life acts video, and he can definitely sing(apart from the currently cracking of his voice), at least better than the typical boyband guy.

Again, I'm astonished how easy it is for people to hate somebody...so it is not the success? Then it's his fan base?...they're non-mature girls ...so why is there the reason to hate them? Do you hate kids, because they do stupid and irrational things?

And you hate him because he's younger than you??? You would not hate him if he would be 17 ??

How many people have bought an iPad this year...although many of them do not often use the device if you consider the price of the product...and the main reason is the clever marketing and image campaign of  Apple...they are Apple-fans..so what it's the difference to Justin here...do you hate then also Apple ?

How many people are fans of big sport clubs and player, be it soccer, football or baseball and how many money do those sport guys get because 'the mass' likes those sports (and I do not so) and for many of the fans it's basically 'their' life, which is irrational for me...because for me personally any soldier, policemen, physican has 1000x more value than any of those sports guys but they earn the same factor less. Should I now start to hate those sport guys?
What is here the difference to the fanbase of Justin...is the fan base more mature than Justin ones? Then I can simply laugh...you should see how sometimes the train station looks like in my hometown after an ice hockey game is over. It looks like a dump.

He's a transvestite alien

I've seen the fans for Twilight, and the fans for Beaver. Both can't be convinced of anything better, and both like the haircuts and fake looks. Hey, fight Club is full of shirtless men, but why don't see teenage girls going after that? Because it isn't marketed that way. Guys around that age are the same way with call of duty games. I personally don't like them because it's just re-hashed weapons, but hey, it was marketed that way. Marketers are smarter than the fan base, and know how to hit the sweet spots to real in cash for selling a way to vent testosterone (bros) or, according to south park..... nevermind. Teenagers are easy to market to, gender specifically. My sister is eighteen, and hates him. It seems the range is eight years old to sixteen-ish. I've seen few exceptions, on both sides of the line. Call of duty is marketed to 130-18. The marketers go gender specific on marketing and reel in great profits because of the way they do it, but there has never been something that goes both ways (no pun intended) for teenagers. So he's the result of some good marketing strategies at Disney. Fuck you Congratulations Walt.

This is funny because the IFad and spectator sports in general really get on my nerves, for partly the reasons you listed.

I completely agree. The fan girls are just weird and creepy. He can't sing. He's just barely older than me and he is already making millions for something he can't do. I only listen to bands that don't have any auto tune crap thrown in. One of my favorite musicians is absolutely hideous. Just watch this video.

Pretty much all my bands are very underrated. Only one of them has actually appeared on anything like MTV.

So I guess my intended message was that little girls like that freak because he's what they imagine as the perfect little prince.

I think you've nailed it right there. It's the exact same appeal Twilight and the Jonas brothers had.

Exactly. Twilight appeals to "the perfect fantasy" of teenage girls. The woman who "wrote" that really can't write. And her other book is just invasion of the body snatchers with a tacked on love plot.

And the Jonas Brothers. Don't get me started. They don't even play their own instruments.

The Jonas Brothers I can tolerate because they actually seem like decent people. Like I could sit down and have a conversation and so long as their music didn't come up we'd get alone fine. Bieber, though, is like my worst nightmare, for the following reasons.

1. The little whiner can't sing. What isn't auto-tuned is all screechy, whiny crap that even the average choir boy could reasonably imitate.
2. He thinks he can sing. From what I've seen all the kid ever talks about is his success and talent (the existence of both is heavily debated) when there's really nothing to brag about.
3. He's an unbearable little shit. While the Jonas Brothers as described above seem decent, this kid's nothing but a spoiled brat who flaunts his fame around as if it's diplomatic immunity or something. Beating up a twelve-year-old over laser tag is bad, but trying to get away with it because you're a celebrity is so stupid my only possible reaction is rage.
4. He sings about love. Der fuck? Kid, you are maybe 13 years old, but you claim to be 16 so I'll roll with that. Even so, you are in the middle of your teens, you don't know anything about love. The little bitch you met in the pet shop wasn't your true love meant to last for ages because she wanted to adopt the same sissy-shit poodle as you. He needs to learn that before I'll take him seriously.

But as many know, when slowed down his songs become some seriously freaky stuff.

Agreed. As to #2 and #3, that applies to a ton of celebrities.

Well hit me on the head with a hammer. He sounds like a girl but its kinda wrong... Like a girl but there are some parts where its ambigous.
That and he is a real dick. When he was at this gig the owner came up to him, laid a hand on his shoulder and asked if he needed anything. Apparantly Jieber turned to him and told him to not f-ing touch him and leave him alone. Apparantly the roadys said 'yeah hes a real douche.'

Those roadies must be paid obscene amounts of money. Or didn't read their contracts.

Off topic, but instead of the dead horse-beating, I found this the most interesting part of page 9, haha. I expected a deathcore breakdown after the intro, and got surprised. I like it.

Breakdowns? I hate em. Can't stand them. They're all the same and they all are used by every mainstream band out there.
