Justin Bieber or why are people who have success being attacked?
« on: December 24, 2010, 03:35:10 pm »

I have to say that I am not a Justin Bieber fan, although I like 1-2 songs from him, especially 'Pray'.

If you randomly check out youtube videos, read forum threads etc., you realize that he is being personal attacked with all means, starting by attacking his personal appearance and ending by that people create anti-Bieber videos - with content such like cats spitting at a poster(showing him) being one of the harmless ones.

I think that it is quite ridiculous, since Justin is by no means arrogant and that he can sing etc. is out of question - regardless if you like his music or not.

Have so many people no success in their life, so they cannot bear that Justin has it and put considerable effort into such nonsense?

It is quite ridiculous, I just ignore things I have no interest in.  Where's this apathetic country I always hear about?

He's formed a cult of personality.  I don't like cults of personality, especially around arrogant young people who are off being squeaky-shiny and in a sense inhuman.

I don't hate Justin Bieber, or even really dislike him personally.  I dislike his rabid fanbase.

I dislike his rabid fanbase.

Agreed. I hate ANY rabid fanbase really. Even the one around the game this very site is based on. You get that nutty and well, you stop seeming well. Reasonable. Or likable.

I hate fanbases in general.

Therefore, I entirely agree.

Bieber is mostly being attacked memetically. The big thing is that, really, he got where he is by chance. Some executive saw his videos and decided to fund him, and before anyone knew what happened he was the Miley Cyrus replacement. That alone angers a lot of people, that he could put out amature video (and honestly, I really hate his music myself) and get rich. Those who disliked him started being vocal about it, and this got involved with the ongoing music flame war between Metal & Rock vs. Rap vs. Pop/R&B. People get really passionate over that, so he became the most hated figure in music overnight.

Finally, Bieber's behavior does not help.

When people hear his voice they go "Wow, that chick must be hot" and then they find out that he's a guy and they have to hate him or they would be gay.

But the feeling never goes away.

And that is why people hate Justin Beiber.

i'm sorry but that's very much questionable. he has a terrible voice, and his songs aren't even good enough to be jingles, and are so unoriginal and cliche that they could very well be parodies of the genre.
and criticizing a terrible artist is very justified, especially if he is popular and successful instead of a better artist

His voice honestly isn't that terrible.

I just happen to prefer listening to people who sound like their voices have actually broken.

No one actually does that, it's just a played-out joke people make.

There's always going to be a percentage of people who don't like something. When people become successful (more people listen to it), the amount of people who don't like it rises with the amount of people who listen. It's just larger or smaller in some cases.

Owl City is my favorite band, but I hate Fireflies. It is just as good as the rest of the songs, and that is not why I hate it. I hate it because every radio station in 30 miles of me played it on repeat for 24 hours a day. They were beating a dead horse with the bones of its children. It grated on me, and I started to loathe it.

Repeat this process with some whiny bitch boy whose nuts have yet to drop, and whose unwilling audience didn't like him in the first place, and you will see why people hate him.

i don't like it, it's the voice of somebody who hasn't hit puberty, yet is singing about srsbsns . wouldn't you bet his rabid fanbase will still praise his beautiful voice once the androgens kick in?

Because he's the one-boy version of a boyband. He is not a musician. He is not talented. Let's see him write his own songs, as opposed to the Disney song-producers.

I hate Beiber simply because he's a symbol for how modern music is now nothing but corporate horse-beating in order to get more money from stupid teenage girls. I hate pop culture. They're destroying the world with their idiocy.

If I was sixteen and offered this chance, I would take it.
