Cool, that's my old hometown.  I didn't go to Apex High, but if you're in the range of 23 years old, we probably know a bunch of the same people.

Yeah, that dates back to the 80s or something.  I'm pretty sure that actual gay people stopped relying on it decades ago.

I have to admit Foot, I never figured you for a piercings kind of guy, especially not lips or eyebrows.  Not in a "symbol" bullshit way, but just not a piercing thing.

I'm not sure I am one either, but I've got this itch for some kind of alternative jewelry.  I used to have an awesome toe ring I made from a woody vine that had wrapped tightly around a pole, but I lost it when I stupidly took it scuba diving.  I guess I'm looking for a spiritual successor for it.

But those "anti-eyebrow" things look fucking ridiculous, I don't know why, just don't.

And I don't think eybrow piercing would work with your eyebrows. If you're really dead set on getting a non-ear piercing, get one on your lip or your nose.

Another vote against stabbing the caterpillars, huh.  Nose isn't gonna work, septum piercings gross me out and nostrils look too girly.  I would do lip in a heartbeat if it didn't mean having metal inside my mouth.

Extremely unlikely for two reasons.

1) I'm 28
2) I moved here from Texas 2 years ago.

If you really want a piercing on your face, I, too, vote against the anti-eyebrow.  The biggest issue I have with a lip-ring is I knew a couple of people who had lips rings and had issues with ... leakage if they drank something too quickly after fiddling with it.  It was disgusting.

If you're going with an eyebrow, you'll probably want a thicker ring or bar bells as opposed to small ones. Bushy brows will make smaller ones look even smaller. I think you could pull off a eyebrow ring, just not a barbells.

This -is- coming from someone who doesn't think anyone should wear barbells or studs though.

Eh... I don't know, piercings put me off way more than anything else. If you're dead set on it, I'd back eyebrow rather than the rather creepy... uh, "anti-eyebrow," which despite the name just looks more like an inexplicably random part of the face to me.

Do what ya want, a piercing is no big deal if ya get it done at a legit place, but personally I think they are kinda going out of style, just avoid any oral ones cause those will very much so mess up your dentition.

Eyebrows you likely want thicker, such as a 14 gauge as a safe bet. That's what I started with. My advice with any piercing, is do not get it if you aren't willing to take care of them to ensure proper healing, and regular cleaning after healing. They can still get infected after healing if you don't, albeit not nearly as frequently as some people may think.

As for an anti-eyebrow, I had one. It's a surface piercing, and generally starts to migrate quickly. If you get one, I recommend getting a 16-14 gauge, and if it migrates.... Just take it out. Mine lasted 4 months before I noticed it wasn't quite as it was, and took it out.

If you want the anti-eyebrow look, and aren't opposed to some extra aftercare and healing time, dermal implants (also called dermal anchors) are a better solution. It's basically a stem with a base, that they set under the skin. It takes longer to heal, understandably, but it isn't prone to migrating. It does cost more, considering it is a more permanent (not literally permanent) piercing, and requires more time and effort than a simple hollowpoint needle.

"anti-eyebrow" sounds like a marketing gimmick to me, saying "I'm the rebel of the rebels". It's... there's no reason anyone would do that.
I see a lot of piercings the same way. They work to erase your personality, not express it.

Thus, if I wanted to do something along these lines, I'd go with a tattoo. Not a solid black one (and definately no chinese symbols), but the ones where someone looks at it and says "wow, that's awesome". Be willing to pay extra to go to some high-quality guy, as there aren't regulations for tattoo and piercing guys in most states. Then, roughly design it yourself. The artist can fill in the details if they're halfway decent.

I would advise against the anti-eyebrow. I don't think it would look good on you. I don't think it would look good on most people, though. It feels like an uninspired design choice.

The class eyebrow piercing would probably look good on you, though.

Not read the whole thing except the first page, But just get the piercings no matter what anyone says it's your body, and then once you get it only then you can really decide if it fits how you look and if you like them.

I have 2 spiderbites on the right side of my lower lip I just got it does and it looked alright and now everyone is use to me haveing them in and can't remember what I looked like without them haha . If you do get them and like them and want to keep them after a while no one will remember what it was like when you did not have it in.

That's helpful info.  Yeah, I'm seeing little reason to choose an anti-eyebrow over an eyebrow at this point.

Your skin basically won't "grow into" anything that's not skin. People wear bone, wood, and shell all the time. Once it's healed, those are perfectly fine options for jewelry.

Rough organic surfaces are particularly great for bacteria to grow on, but that is relatively simple to do. Besides you should be cleaning any piercing jewelry regularly anyways.

Wait what? You need to clean the jewelry?? Even after the hole has scared? Cause I have stainless steal lip studs and have not cleans them once after everything healed up O.o

Bacteria loves to grow in any warm, moist opening. If you take them out now, you'll likely notice a  white filmy buildup. That's bacteria. It likely smells like cheese. I still clean my piercings every other day or so by taking out the jewellery and washing the holes with antibacterial soap. The jewellery soaks in hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol in the meantime, and as soon as I'm done washing I just dry the jewellery with paper towel and put em back in.
