You want to draft recruits into airforce? Really? Don't you already have more competent volunteers for the job than you have job openings in that branch?

Its hillarious and probably not relevant, but isn't every one of these countries living off cash infusions from Germany, or under serious consideration for a bailing out?
Athenian democracy is long gone, Iceland is living of not paying it's debt to Holland and the UK, which leaves Spain as a benefiter from European subsidies, but it only gets a measly total of 2.2 million per year (European subsidies - what they pay to Europe). See here for more details on the European budget.

Note that although the EU is hinting at bailing out some countries, those countries are Greece, Ireland and Portugal. if they'd need to really bail out Spain or Italy, you bet some thing's going to snap. (Not that such an event is in the line of expectation, since both Spain and Italy have a more stable economy then Portugal and Ireland, meaning they can have higher debts without getting into trouble)

Yeah, but they're all base jobs, which pay well and don't put you in harm's way too much. Much better than regular infantry, so I'd guess a disproportionate number of volunteer soldiers would try to get into airforce.

So, basically Nikov's government helps people with children and veterans?

Wow, I didn't know we could arbitrarily tailor the government to our needs.  Why not just target services directly at ourselves?

There are a lot of those jobs in other departments as well. Tanks and ships also need maintenance and there's always need for people on logistics. "The dudes with them guns" are just a small part of what makes an army tick and I would say you could have an army without common infantry, but an army of only drafted infantry would never work.

Oh no you did not.

I know that.  But you've expressed your desire to have been in the army bar some physical thing I can't remember and your love of the army a lot.

I guess I could declare massive government investment in independant game producers in my system...?

Nikov, could you clear up for us what your connection to the armed forces really is? From what you've said, it's pretty obvious you have some link to them, but it's not clear what.

Now, let's not make any hasty statements. We should think about it first. Would Nikov really support this overinflated government and legitimise it by actually voting?

And I doubt he has a yellow ribbon. That's the colour of liberalism.

There's more jobs in the air force than flying aircraft, DJ.

They're trades, and you need to be trained to do them.

EDIT: The trade jobs are pretty interchangeable between divisions, too. My Dad is Air Force, but he spends most of his time at the Infantry Base.
