As dawn breaks above the trees, adwarf is the first one awake. He has dug a little pit (2'x2'x1') near the lake, started a campfire, and is whistling a merry tune as he cooks breakfast for everyone. He used the 4 eggs, 6 bananas, 6 peach apples, 2 orange kiwis and one of the root vegetables, and is cooking what seems to be small breakfast omelettes on the metal plate. The smell of food and the chirping of birds wakes everyone. As everyone waits for food, Aqizzar goes over the finds in the village again. As he holds up one of the blue flowers, something clicks in Sheb's mind. He calls out to the group, "That's flax! We can use that to make cloth!" As adwarf serves breakfast, the group quiets again, settling their stomachs. Then, plans are made for the morning. As folks gather, you notice that Kitsunin is missing, and there is no evidence of his leaving. This worries you, considering that he started ranting something about aliens in his sleep, but you press on with the day.
Tack:
You begin to make a knife of one of the flaky stones, but underestimate its sharpness. You slice your hand pretty badly, but Strife hustles over and stops the bleeding almost immediately, making a bandage of your sleeve. You decide to work on your stretcher instead, hampered by your injury. It is finished pretty quickly after Sheb gives you some supplies, and then you help Sheb on his shelter.
Neyvn:
You start at the cache as soon as breakfast is over, with your mind set on one thing only, tools. Instead, you are struck with inspiration, and hoard all the teeth, much of the coral, and send a couple people out to get sticks instead of fishing through the cache. While you wait, you sharpen all of the pieces of coral, and cut up a few vines. They come back with more than enough for what you need, even after about half of it winds up in the "firewood" pile. You now happily move out of the way of the cache, sit down near the fire, and make arrows of all of your materials. You wind up with 10 tooth arrows and 12 coral arrows. You then set about helping all of the others making tools by running gopher for them.
Aqizzar:
After breakfast, you help Strife take stock for a while, and suddenly, Tack cuts himself and Strife hurries off. When Strife is done, he comes back and relieves you of the drudgery of record keeping. You then set about making tools, happily allowing Neyvn to fetch stuff for you and the rest of the folks making tools. You wind up making a spear of one of the long pieces of wood, and a piece of flaky grey stone, as well as a scrap of vine from Neyvn's arrows. You also make a spearhead for adwarf's Huntin' Stick, which you are sure will work better than just a pointy piece of wood. After that, you decide to supervise the rest of the tool makers.
Barbarossa:
You head north of the cave, along a rock wall that eventually blends into the ground. Something tells you to climb the hill, and you do just that, even though it is a steep, hard climb. When you get to a plateau, you see several new types of tree. One of these trees has dozens of large (small watermelon) sized, prickly, bright green fruits. You've seen them before, but you don't remember where, although you do recognize them as food. You climb the tree and knock a dozen of the fruit down when you smell a peculiar, but somewhat familiar odor. It's coming from the leaves and bark of the tree, so you rip off a branch and take it down with you. The branch is very sticky where you broke it from the tree, and the smell is almost overwhelming. You use your shirt to pick up your haul, and head back to camp. On your way back, you find several bushes growing small green and red peppers. They are rough, bent, and lumpy, but still look like peppers. You pick a dozen of each before your shirt is completely full.
Sonerohi:
You find a nice shady spot and sleep, despite all the racket of rocks pounding and the waterfall churning away.
Lordnincompoop:
You immediately head to the cave, climb up the steps, and head inside. You walk between two large, gray boulders, and then walk down a long, slightly downhill corridor. You then squeeze through another narrow point, before walking into a large chamber. Pinkish crystalline stones in the wall reflect what sunlight comes in through the entrance, giving you just enough light to see what you're doing and to not fall and kill yourself on the rough stone floor. Most of the stone in here is either brown or gray, you can't really tell in the dim light. Patches of the walls have been scratched at with something, but you're unsure what. You slowly make your way to the back of the chamber, when you hear a loud crashing sound, and footsteps walking. By the time you get there, you see Scriver heading off into the darkness. You pick up one of the boards, which has been spray painted "No entrance allowed. Danger!" in Korean. On your way back out, you run your hand over the wall, and some residue from a pink crystal comes off on your skin. Curiousity gets the better of you, and you taste it. The pink crystals appear to be salt of some kind. When you get back outside, you note that many people are already working on tools, and you set out to help them. You pick up a sharp rock and carry off the shells and a couple vines, and by the time everyone gathers again, you are wearing a chest-piece (not unlike the front of a mail shirt) made of various pieces of shell strung together.
Diakron:
You spend about 30 seconds looking for obsidian, as the entire front of the cave and the wall under it is obsidian. Out of curiosity, you walk up the "steps" to the mouth of the cave, and find that the two boulders at the front of the cave are extremely large pieces of flint. You rub your hands together happily, and then go and grab one of the shovels from the cache. Carefully, and using it like a pick, you manage to get a dozen hand sized shards (and innumerable tiny bits) of obsidian from a part of the wall not often looked at. Unfortunately, the shovel chips a bit at the corner you're working with, but that doesn't seem to affect its usability. You head up the "steps" to the mouth of the cave, and hack off a dozen more pieces of flint before you begin to worry that your shovel may not hold up to such abuse. To that end, you head back down to the worksite, and rip the sleeves from your shirt, tie them to a piece of obsidian each, and then spend until everyone reconvenes sharpening the two new knives.
Strife:
As you and Aqizzar go over the cache for the first time, you hear Tack yelp, and rush over to him immediately, before you even realize what's going on. You quickly rip off one of his sleeves, bandage a nasty cut on his hand, tell him not to do that again, and then walk back to the cache. You figure that you can count by yourself, and send Aqizzar off to make tools. You then spend the rest of the morning counting stuff and writing in your notepad.
adwarf:
Hunting goes extremely well this day. Not only do you bag a large bird (about the size of a small turkey) that decided to run instead of fly on your first trip out to the grasslands, you find a couple more nests. You sling the bird over your shoulder and gather up 8 eggs in your shirt, happily heading back to camp. When you get there, Aqizzar gruffly asks for your stick, and then ties a sharp, pointy gray stone spearhead to the non-sharpened end. You can't help but smile as you head back out for another round. As you approach the grassland, however, you step on something spongy, hear a faint hiss, and are then thrown forcefully to the ground. You manage to hold onto your spear as you land on your back, and when you manage to get your bearings, there is blood dripping onto your hands. You stand up to survey the damage, and none of it was done to you. You pull your spear up to reveal that you have killed a large brown snake, almost a foot around, and when you finally haul it out of the brush, it is almost 20 feet long! A cursory glance at the fangs reveals that it is not venomous. Because of the enormous weight of the beast, you have a hard time hauling it back, but you eventually make it, and get long, wide eyed stares from the rest of the crew.
Sheb:
The materials gathering portion goes very smoothly, as you find a bunch of very light, yet very sturdy branches not too far (about 300 feet) to the east of the lake. Large leaves and long, tough vines also easy to come across, and you spend roughly three hours piling up resources enough to build a small lodging. An hour later, you have a rough blueprint drawn in the dirt, and an empty plot of flat land. You start building near the firepit, and soon, Tack comes to help you, and you finish well before schedule, and with extra resources to boot.
Japa:
You spend the morning headed to the big tree, and get there without incident. Although it does take you a while longer to get there than you anticipated, you manage to go (almost) straight there from the campsite without following the beach.
Scriver:
You grab one of the axes from the cache, and slip into the cave as folks argue about whether or not to break into the back. You've made up your mind, and the answer is yes. You walk past the two large boulders, gripping your axe tightly as you head slightly downhill almost thirty feet. A trickle of water leads you into the cave, and then you notice that the slope stops, and you are now on flat ground. You head past another narrow part of the corridor, and into a large chamber. Sunlight reflects off of pinkish crystals in the corridor, giving you a faint light to see by, just enough to equal a couple of candles. You move quietly against one of the walls toward the rear of the cavern, and come to another pinched off passage. Just past the narrow entrance is a room roughly the size of a closet, with the back wall boarded off. You pay little heed to the message spray painted on some of the boards, and begin to hack at the edges of the boards. They come down quickly, revealing a mine shaft behind it. You head down the mine shaft slowly, and soon it forks into two branches, each going further underground. You take the path left, and after a long, long walk, you see a strange pink glow up ahead. You approach the end of the hallway/mineshaft carefully, and you see an outcropping, above what looks to be nothingness. On the outcropping is a lever, in front of a box which is suspended from the ceiling. There is something scrawled on the box, but it is illegible. You return to the fork, and take the right branch. You walk for what seems like an hour down a winding corridor that takes you deep underground. At the end of the tunnel is a heavy stone door engraved with symbols like those on the box. You cannot open it.
You make haste to report your findings to the rest of the camp.
AntiAntiMatter:
As you scavenge for a big stick to guard with, Sheb hands you an axe, stating that he'd need all the big sticks he could get. You then spend the rest of the morning on patrol around the clearing.
