Adwarf, can I borrow your spear for this bit? Being caught bare-handed is possibly one of the worst things that can happen during a conflict with a velociraptorbeowulf.

"Well, I found figs, some kind of coconut looking things, a possible fresh water source, and a possible site where we can build a tree house."

I also just realised, we're going to be exploring (possibly) a cave, while in the evening. I guess, the faster we get fire, then the faster we get torches, so the more we can explore.

So right now, I'm thinking just to look for signs of habitation by humans or animals. It isn't raining, so there's no rush. As long as we know it's safe to be outside around there.


Edit: Also, Kitsunin, seeing as you're the botanist, could you go check out the plants? LNCP has amazing attentiveness, compared to the rest of us, too, so if you could go with him before starting on the tools, that'd be good. I'm mostly thinking 'If they were planted there, by people, then we have a problem'. And they are in 'rows', so my parano- suspicions just keep racking up.

Nevyn has the best survival skill, so if you start trying to make a fire, then Barbarossa and i might be able to scope out the cave faster, and we might be able to move in there tonight. But, we don't want the fire to be seen from the cave entrance, but starting a fire in the undergrowth could be dangerous.


Mero, how big is the clearing?

The clearing, at it's widest and longest, is 1km by 3/4km. The south end of the clearing is about twice as wide as the north end. The small lake dominates the clearing, taking up about 2/3 of the south end, and most of the north end.
