DF has overheated my computer to meltdown zone. All for the sake of playing at 1000FPS. For an hour. Atleast I made my infinite pumpstack design work. And a few other things I can't post due to my computer being destroyed.

Had a massive, hairy, dust-breathing crab Forgotten Beast. It beat one of my engineers horribly, but was killed in a single punch: Urist McRecruit punches the Forgotten Beast in the head with his right hand, bruising the carapace, bruising the muscle, and bruising the brain. The Forgotten Beast has been struck down.

A statue I had put down was of 'Domas Touchpicks and coins' with Domas Touchpicks admiring the coins. This is hilarious because Domas Tattekkud (Touchpicks, yeah) is my Broker/Bookkeeper. :D

Sometimes your dwarves will always miss the target. Other times they go "fuck it" and punch the target in the head.

Forgotten Beasts seem to be akin to Toady playing Russian Roulette with your fortress, as they can be anything from harmless giant worms made of mud to necrotic-gas spewing nigh-invunerable iron hydras of doom.

I gave cats [CAN_LEARN]. I got a kitten stonecrafter/engraver as a migrant.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

The grim hilarity of DF combat. :D Three of my Dwarfs were fighting a FB crab on a bridge (and a war dog helped), the FB dodged a slash form my swordsdwarf and fell two floors. Later on, a pikedorf (with a hammer. ::) fell in the exact same spot and only broke an arm. Half a second later the Swordsdwarf fell as well, but she unfortunately died. :( The third Dwarf there, a speardwarf got himself caged by falling unconscious beneath a cage trap. I'll be unpacking her in my hospital. Also; my War Grizzly Bear (thank you, Elves!) helped out against the FB a bit later when three different Dwarfs + that bear set about killing it. :P

The previous FB (same fort!) killed two Dwarfs and a dog, this one caused the death of one Dwarf and killed two dogs.

This guy had a habit of ramming even my best armed and armoured guys into walls and asploding them in this fashion.

In a somewhat pythonesque scene one of my axedorfs chopped both arms and both legs of a goblin bowman off, and the goblin has the bad luck of still surviving. For the moment.

I've recently started taking no / killing all above ground animals, and only taming cavern animals. I tamed some Naked Mole Dogs, and they're hanging out in my dining hall. The children are clustered around them. I'm just imagining them all playing with these new pets, while it's sniffing the air and confused in an absent-minded way.

Hah, I happen to have five of those in cages, let's see if I can flog them to the humans that just arrived. If not, target practice. :P

Edit; ehm. Four. One of them seems to have escaped or something and a nearby cook squished it. Punching skull, brain and stuff. A weak, flimsy, cook. :o

Edit2; HAha, they all try to escape when someone comes to bring them to the depot. Oh well.

- Assigning your dorfs to work with cheap materials for training purposes, then looking into that bin full of rough uncut gems, or the bin filled with looted unusable copper weapons. You are surrounded with unskilled dorfs, cheap glass, uncut gems and useless weapons - all of them near worthless. But you know it for a fact that in matter of days (or hours) the dorfs will be legendary gem gutters and weaponsmiths, and they will be surrounded with finest treasures and best weapons a dwarf could craft.

- Sometimes I stare at a magma forge for a few moments and think that magma is an unlimited source of energy.

- Finding a hot tile. "Wheeee there's fiery death behind this wall!"

- Finishing the room floor made of gold, for a working-class dwarf who happens to like gold, while seeing the clan leader living in a room with a dirt floor and cheap wooden furniture.

Seeing a farmer hauling the mutilated corpse of Stongun the forgotten beast for butchering. :P

Edit; Scale, 120 fat, 2 eyes, 3 hearts (!), 21 intestines, 7 brains, 242 meat and chitin.

And three years later everyone who ever got near it has all their brains melt.
