Mount & Blade / Warband Mods?
« on: December 23, 2010, 04:30:01 pm »

Can anyone recommend me some good Mount & Blade (or Warband, I have both) mods? Anything will do that is of high quality, regardless of it's setting.

The trouble is that, in default M&B, I have experienced everything. The AI is vastly inferior to my own, and I can hack into the game whenever I deem it necessary. I would, therefore, prefer challenging mods. I will try not to use my singularity-level adbot skills to ruin the gameplay experience for myself.

Thank you gents in advance,

Prophesy of Pendor is a very, very detailed and exceedingly difficult mod.

I've played it for hours now and still haven't managed to find everything.

For Warband, there's Diplomacy mod, though that's really just some additions to Native so I don't know if it will be challenging enough for you.

I'll consider you a super-fantastic new forum guy if you update your OP to keep track of the recommended mods. I spent a lot of time digging through the old MNB thread to track down worthy mods.

Native Expansion is fun for... well, native.

If you enjoy history, it does not get any better than Rus XIII Century (currently just for M&B, but should be out for Warband soon)

Non-historical:

Sword of Damocles (your very own kingdom, with managment)

and I second Wedding Dance, chariots are badass

1866 for M&B - it's the only non-multiplayer mod I play anymore. Basically puts you in a post civil war wild west setting.

For Warband I play Mount & Musket, which is multiplayer-only. Puts you in the Napoleonic era on the side of the UK, France or Prussia (Russians to be added in next version).

Brytenwalda

How could anybody release a serious mod like this without having somebody spell check/grammar check it? My god. Despite the amount of work that seems to have been put into this, I couldn't ignore the horrible.. everything. I could hardly understand any of the text.

Perhaps English was not their native language?

But compared to the services of a programmer, the services of a translator are so inexpensive!

But neither programmers nor translators of mods typically get paid!  ;D

Got Warband for Christmas.  Immediate life-crippling addiction to crpg.  I can't stop playing it.

My problem with mount and blade is that I always die if I try to actually fight in combat, thus ruining the point of the game for me. I do best if I sit back and let my army fight, which is boring.
