"A vile force of darkness"appeared at the edge of the map - and then nothing happened. They just staying there for months...
In the end I had to engage them with my men.

There was another very annoying bug regarding siege mode:
once the enemy army appeared *inside* my fortress just one level below the point where my wagon arrived initially.
And many of the kobold thieves appeared at exactly that point, out of nowhere.
That makes me think that the problem is that the start locations for entities are messed-up.

Yeah, they did the whole 'stand outside and not fall into the massive amount of traps' thing as well to me...
