Melt a Metal Object (solved)
« on: December 23, 2010, 05:31:39 am »

Having some problems using melt a metal object at my smelter.

I ordered a batch of 20 metal chests, cabinets, doors and statues from my smiths, high quality output went to be encrusted, anything below superb I tagged for melting.

Problem is however that my dwarves run most melt jobs just fine.  goblinite etc turns back to bars nice and quick as does *most* furniture and crafts

The problem I have is with a metal Chest (box/coffer).  When I designate these for melt they get hauled off to a smelter as usual.  The operator runs a really slow job on them and eventually leaves the furnace.  Assuming hes off for a new item I hit 't' to check the workshop and the chest remains, still melt designated.

If I dont catch this behaviour in time then my operators seem to spend forever running melt a metal object, on repeat, on the same chest.

Bug?

I wish I had something cool to say about this.  Because it's really cool.

Known bug.  Chests cannot be melted down at the moment.
