Humble Noble?
« on: December 23, 2010, 01:49:40 am »

Well, of the appointed variety, but my expedition leader, (also my broker, for what it's worth), despite leading avillage of 74 dwarves and counting, has refused to take the title of mayor, demand quarters, or start issuing mandates.  Great noble, or best noble ever?

Mayoral elections seem random now. Do your Dwarfs have time to do an election?

I don't know, I tend to have a lot of idlers.  Do they all need to have No Job?

If you've got enough idlers, they'll elect him. My mayors don't tend to turn up until my pop hits 80, instead of 50 proclaimed by the wiki. 80 tends to be the magic number for pop(titans, megabeasts, sieges, barony, etc.).

The mayor has [REQUIRES_POPULATION:50] staples onto the raw, so it would be 50, but when everybody is working, they can't vote. Moral lesson? Keep your dwarfs busy: Get less demands.

Hence why I noted that it supposed to be 50, I just happen to always encounter it at 80.

Idle hands are the Devil's hands.

Technically, the Devils playthings, but that is neither here nor there.  :P

Have you ever seen what your toys do when you're not watching?

No, by definition you have not.
