For one, what is all this talk of a human fortress? did someone edit the raws, or what?

also, how is it that I've penetrated two caverns and have not yet found a forgotten beast?

Someone probably changed the playable race to humans.

It's random, so there's no telling when you'll get your first FB. I got two titans (okay, one titan and one SMB) before my first FB showed up for my current fort.
