Magma forges, without magma pipe/pool

After digging into some adamantine, and managing to live through it, I found about 6 tiles of 7/7 magma. I'd like to build a magma forge because I dont have much for fuel on the map, but it will not give me the option to build it without finding a pool/pipe. Is there any way to trigger this? I dont mind cheating if I have to.

Wait, what? You have find magma but can't build magma forges?

You should probably specify that you're using 40d (or older), which generally has issues with enabling magma forges; cheating it in somehow will likely be the only way.
