Just had a siege arrive and I laughed heartily when I saw the single squad of pikemen had emerged right into a horde of undead elephants, and then went 'oh damn' as they walked through the elephants without any fighting between the two.

Not sure if this is intended or not, as Goblins are a 'vile force of darkness', but I recall reading somewhere that Undead should be universally hostile to non-undead, so putting it up here just in case.

Skeletal and non-skeletal elephants get along just fine.

I think the hostility of undead animals has more to do with how hostile the original animal is then anything else.

Again though, in reporting this I am assuming that this is not how they are supposed to behave. I don't actually know how Toady wants them to act so I'm just posting the things that seem aberrant from my understanding and perspective. Since Siegers and Megabeasts battle, I figure Siegers and Undead should too. Of course, that would have made for a very shortlived and boring siege, as a herd of Skeletal Elephants would have rendered those goblins unto dust.

Yeah, I think the wild animal protection was carrying over to the undead improperly in that case.
