This is why a person who has come out of an extremely bad relationship will be repulsed by relationships. In my experience, a lot of times, it lasts for a small while, or until curiosity revives the cat, but sometimes it can just become habit-forming, like many other things, and cause for them to never really enter a relationship again. Side-note- hence the saying to 'get back on the horse'. Once you fall off a horse, you have to ride it again in a short period of time, lest you become afraid of riding.

Meh.  In my case at least 50% of me was kind of disinterested in them before, during (even during the good part, I'm sad to say), and after, so I can't just say it's an "I'm afraid of riding" thing.

Well, okay.  I am.  But the other thing is that really, honestly, I'm just not that interested, never have been, and would rather concentrate on my studies and platonic relationships.  I thought that would change and that I wasn't dating people because I was scared.  It turned out that I just wasn't that strongly into dating.

I guess I'm just one of those people =/

I can understand that. I'm not into relationships of any kind right now, and it actually took a friend to tell me (Who is doing a uni degree in psyche- Free faux sessions ftw!) that it was because of a really bad break up, which was way back in high school. But, the habit has formed, so I should probably be going out and conquering my fear of commitment. But where do you start with that stuff anyway, when you're completely disinterested?

...

Anyway. This thread really isn't about either of us...

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

I'd have a smiliar stoy, to join in with.
But you're right, this isn't the time and the place for it.

I guess freeform has already heard what he wanted to hear, hasn't he?

I was reading this thread, and cooked up something to add, but then, suddenly (while reading through one of Vector's posts, if I am not mistaken), I got one of the most terrible nosebleeds I ever had.

Now that I've dealt with that, I forgot what I wanted to say. I'm terribly sorry.

I have never had the urge to pursue a relationship beyond friendship or simple and short-term lust for particular individuals. It's not that uncommon apparently.

My money is also on low libido. Go kill a bear with your hands and drink it's blood.

As for me, I'm fairly certain I'm just to selfish/self-centered to pursue a stable symbiotic relationship.

Neither do I. I'm terrible at it too. What? Shove aside, I love getting into people's problems.

Sometimes (read: usually) I wish I was more like this. I have a large drive to be in a relationship and am extremely picky about women. It doesn't help that I have a lot of trouble sleeping alone.

People who have a lower libido and high independence are blessed in my opinion.

I think we should start a campaign to get Vector named overlord of the world. That'd sort things out!

Oh my libido is completely large enough. I'm just not in a drive for a relationship. Which causes problems.

Also, Naah. Maths ain't my thing, bro.

Read the OP. You're sane. This is a good trait to have. Don't assign labels to yourself because its trendy. Enjoy dating for fun rather than pleasure and the lasting relationships it brings.

I can't see anyone who has labeled themselves.

Asexual? Is that the label?

I'll be watching you. Sudden nosebleeds are also a sign of radiation poisoning, and I bet that's what you did!
You somehow found a way to spread radioactive material over the Internet.

If only we could do that to Magma.

It is, but you're not an asexual if you'd be up for having sex with anything that's not your hand. Your lack of will to be in a relationship wouldn't make you asexual.

In general, the complete lack of desire to have any sort of relationship--ever--is known as "aromantic."

I wouldn't call myself that, by the way, for anyone who's counting.  I just think it's not sensible to go relationshipping at this part of my life, much as I did when I was younger.
