Permanent Speed Loss?

I was playing adventure mode today. I went to town and slept and when I awoke I found my speed down from 1500 to 550. I tried traveling around for a bit but the speed loss will not go away.  :( I have no broken legs or cuts/bruises.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Did you by chance put a crutch in your backpack? The crutches still work when they are in containers, and they STILL WORK even if you drop them from containers. You have to drop them from HANDS to stop crutchwalking.

You didn't accidentally pick up a bronze colossus or a dragon did you? I wondered why i was walking so so and then I noticed I was carry around half the nearby town in a chest.
