Firstly I'm a SHE, and nextly your welcome.

I'll join those classes and go see if I can scrounge up some medical plants and such after.

Holy crap. Didn't know that. People make assumptions when they see a bald blood soaked avatar and the letters 'man' at the end of a name. But lets keep these kinda comments on the OOC forums.

Edit: Rolled for stat ups. Dusk got a point in Blood Magic. Karratan got a point in gathering.

Seems the worst is over, for now.

Selande will lead the animals just outside the fort before she start the casket work. If it is possible she will do the casket work where she can supervise the animals otherwise she will let them graze until they are done.

Just chiming in in response to the title.

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend somewhere along in the bitterness, and I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known, how to save a life.

I suppose I should get off my lazy as and actually read the thread now.

((So I can post an action? If so, this is it:))

Make my way up to fortress' cavern entrance, trying to be quiet.

It is to late for me to roll you, but I'll take your action into account when I introduce your character this turn.

All Elves:

You gather around the dining hall for a lunch of cold moose meat. Between Caboose, Disaed, and the goblin guest the meal is quiet and awkward. Caboose volunteers to help feed the injured Ochita.

-8 servings of wolf meat

Ochita:

You spend the afternoon staring at the bronze bowl that once contained billion, trying to melt it with your mind and improve your ability to use heat magic. Shortly before dinner you suceed in melting it into a liquid puddle. You don't feel any more talented however.

Caboose:

You enter the mint and place your hand of the safe, attempting to sense what is inside with the power of geomancy. Haveing no training in the feild the process takes you several hours. You do eventualy discern that the locked safe contains a large pile of gold and gold alloy coins, as well as a single steel battle axe.

You have gained a level in the Mineral Magic skill!

Leaving the mint you wander down the path into the Forrest where you pratice your illusions. After generating the images of several woodland creatures you chance upon Selande and the goblin watching over the fortress animals as they graze. You decide to test your power by conjuring up an illusionary Minotaur and having it charge them. They flee screaming. Despite your sucess you feel no more knowledgeable in the field of fluid magic.

You return to the fortress and spend some time meditating. You ask your door acquaintances what they would offer in exchange for your left arm. They are reluctant to give you an offer, stating that they do not want a crippled servant. Eventually your persistence causes Argus to break down and give you an offer.

"If you cut off the arm of your Elf body, I can make your bear form stronger..."

Argus also informs you that Disaed has a package for you from the goblins. Deciding to own up to your actions you apraoch the half human and begin to appoligize. He cuts you off.

"I had an accident. It happens. By the way, this is for you." The apparently clueless diplomat hands you a package wrapped in wolf pelt. You tear it open revealing a large stone jar of cold and meaty stew.

+3 Servings of strange stew

Disaed:

After lunch you signal for Dusk and Zrallin to follow you and approach the goblin from last night.

"Listen. About last night... things happen when folks get drunk. It was fun and all, but I don't want to give you the wrong idea. Although taking the circumstances of my creation into account I obviously cannot take issue with mixing races, I am not ready to settle down and get involved in a relationship quite yet. I think its best that you go home soon. I'll take you back next time I visit your people for diplomatic or trade reasons."

She seems somewhat angry at this revelation, but your soothing tone and firm hand on her shoulder calm her down without incident. Once she gains her composure you make a request.

"While you are here why don't you make yourself useful. That overthere is Selande. She is going out to take care of our animals. Why don't you accompany her."

You call Selande over and explain the situation to her. Both elf and goblin are reluctant to travel together, but after several minutes of putting your silver tounge to use in both Elfin and Goblin Selande grabs the guest by her hand and drags her out to the Forest with the Mule and Elk bird following closely behind.

You spend the next several hours sitting in the dining hall with Dusk and Zrallin translating and breaking down what has just occured. You frame the encounter as a pratical example of both pacification and influence. Dusk seems to hang on your every word. Zrallin seems a bit confused by it all. As you speak it occurs to you that you are also improving in your negotiation skills.

You have gained a level in the Barter skill!

After you finish your demonstration you are approached by Caboose. He attempts to apologize for your accident this morning. You cut him off and give him the package from Gura.

Zrallin:

Zrallin pulls you aside and offers you a lesson in practical diplomacy. He then aproaches the female goblin he was 'involved with' last night and starts an arguement with her in goblin. You don't understand a word of it.  He then calls Selande over and and somehow convinces her to take the goblin with her while she tends to the animals.

He then tries to explain what just happened to you and Dusk. You find his explanation confusing and eventually leave deciding that your time would be better used to catch up on lost sleep. You are haunted by nightmares of the Bauxite Termite.

Selande:

You grab the pack animals by the reigns and prepare to lead them out of the fortress. You are interrupted by Disaed of suggests you take the female goblin with you. You turn him down, but the diplomat will not take no for an answer.

"Consider it an important diplomatic mission Selande. If we can work side by side with the goblins without animosity, we will surely be allies in the long run. Besides, she knows more about the forest than you do."

Lacking the mental stamina to go toe to toe with Disaed in an argument you decide to give in and drag the goblin along with you. You head out to the valley with the animals, the greenskin, and a bunch of bones to carve into nails for coffin construction.

You begin to whittle the wolf bones into nails while the goblin stays close to the animals. You grip you knife extra tight in fear that the goblin could attack you at any moment. Every so often she attempts to talk before remembering that the two of you share no common language.

After several hours you finally let your guard down when a huge humanoid beast with the head of a bull charges into the clearing with a roar. The creatures horns and fur glisten with blood. You decide to do the only rational thing and run. After several minutes you decide to double back and sneak up on the monster. The clearing is empty. The monster left no trace of its existence. What sorcery is this?

You round up the goblin and the animals. Within 30 minutes you return to your whittling. You lead the group back to the fortress before dinner with a bunch of nails in your pockets.

You have gained a level in the survival crafting skill!
-The fortress supply of wolf bone
+21 Large wolf bone nails

You feel a bit sleep deprived, but you should have no trouble building a coffin for Miriam. Her corpse is starting to stink up the hospital.

Dusk:

You watch Disaed masterfully pacify and barter with Selande and the goblin. He then explains and translates everything that transpired. It all makes sense, and you take his lecture and demonstration to heart.

You have gained a level in the Barter skill!
You have gained a level in the Pacification skill!

After the lecture you head into the caverns and search for something to use as a pain reliever. You quickly find a patch of Pale Wheat, a close relative of the cave wheat used as a staple in Deep Elfin and dwarven cuisine. Chewing it relives pain and eases digestion. If you can get past its bitter taste you can mill it into flour and use it to bake. Pale wheat flour can also be used to soothe magically agitated or cursed wounds.

+28 units of unprocessed pale wheat

On your way back into the fortress you notice a bald deep elf lurking around the entrance. You confront him and he introduces himself as Dhaekh. Putting into pratice the lessons you learned from Disaed you convince him to come to the fortress and meet everybody over dinner.

Karratan:

You set to work designing a large furnace in the mint. Wishing to get the project done before dinner you rush the design, pausing only long enough to ensure the burning chamber will be big enough to cremate an Elfin Corpse if Selande cannot finish the coffin before Miriam stinks up the sleeping quarters. After about an hour and a half you finish your simple but functional design and set to work building.

You labor as quickly as your body allows, but you fail to finish construction before dinner.

Construction on the wood furnace is 65% complete

It is now dusk. The next turn will cover 12 hours until dawn. Dhaekh is now in the fortress. Ochita is still awaiting surgery.

Give Zrallin the soup to eat, poison test it for him if he thinks it's a trap to kill him. Apologize to Selande about the minotaur illusion. Practice illusions and sensing again. Tell Disaed about the gold in the safe before going to sleep.
