"This is smelly mushroom paste it sticks rocks, skin, flesh, bones together real good, I used it to try fix Miriam, but her flesh very slimy and not all stick to it right."

Try to get in contact with any spirits for the entire next turn, expecially Miriams, by any means.

Then wonder what the others will deside about me.

Consult my door acquaintances about resurrection and the goblin language.

So that I don't end up sitting down for 12 hours learning the language, I'll go into the forest and try to invent illusion magic while learning the goblin language. Once 5 hours pass I'll write Ochita a quick guide to heat magic for 2 hours, then sleep off the rest of the time.

In reply to Mistaru, Zrallin says, "We would be happy to help you during the harvest. As for settling elsewhere, we will need you to provide us maps or directions, as we have no knowledge of the area."

That could have been me! Dusk is too much of a danger to be allowed to do that, he must be stopped before it is too late.

Before Selande heads out for the Cavern for herb gathering she will cook up some hallucinogenic bait made from food and pain numbing pills incase it will be needed. She will bring the boosters, bait and pills with her all in a cloth when she gather herbs. If she meet any passive creature while gathering leave them be, any catious creatures should be throughly assessed before I decide whether she should attack or not and any aggressive creature that attacks her should be baited with the bait and brought down. Return with any kill if possible or atleast hide it in such way that no other creature want to take a bite of it. Keep looking for about 6-7 hours but return to the fortress two hours before the tribunal.

In reply to Mistaru, Zrallin says, "We would be happy to help you during the harvest. As for settling elsewhere, we will need you to provide us maps or directions, as we have no knowledge of the area."

"You could accompany our annual trade convoy and split off to start a camp in any area you see fit I guess. We could also drop you off at one of the nearby islands if Oka can get the damn boat finished. I'm sure if you want a map Towercap can draw you a copy of..."

Mistaru is suddenly cut off by Oka's concubine. "You know damn well that we can't build a boat until your people get back with the featherwood! He could have it finished in two days if you cowardly Neerocks grew a pair and hauled your wagon into the valley. It would only be 10 minutes travel from the moment the humans first lay eyes on your caravan, until you are covered by the Ballista."

Oka burries his face in his dirty green palms and Urist speaks softly. "You have no right to speak to an elder like that Silgore. You also shouldn't divulge important military and economic information to complete and utter strangers. You are excused from the table. I will interpret for Oka."

The female goblin hangs her head in shame and leaves.

"Well, islands only reachable by boat would make it difficult to gather other elves to our location, making it difficult to build up a settlement, although it would provide an appreciable defense. I'd like to consider the other possible options for settlement, though."

Disead coughs and speaks up to the group, trying to change the subject and calm a few raw nerves,

"Yes, the island sounds intriguing. What do you know of this place?"

Urist's eyes light up at the mention of the Islands. "The body of water that this vally borders is the Ant-maw sea. It connects to the great ocean through the Ant-maw straight. The sea and the straight are named after Saint Carpenter, a massive ant made of beeswax. He lives on Carpenter's Island with a tribe of snail-men who worship him as a god. Carpenter's island is one of the few places holy enough to grow featherwood, and is chock full of wild unicorns which the saint and his followers make cheese from."

Mistaru blushes and adds her two cents. "I've been there a few times before the warlord sunk our boat. The Saint presided over my first and third weddings. It would be a perfectly beautiful place for creatures such as you to live."

"Don't patronize them." Gura butts in. "They seem perfectly comfortable in the fortress, and there is more than one kind of elf you know. Perhaps they don't want a fortress or an insect overlord. This group looks a bit mismatched from what I've seen of them... you all ain't of the same... variety of elfishness are you?

"No indeed. The hardship of my people has forced us to be more accomodating to the few of us that our left...survival has a way of putting petty racial differences into perspective.

Take me for example-a product of a loving union between a male Human and a female Elf. Not even 100 years ago, I would of likely of been put to death in some more extreme Elven cities. These days, I am accepted out of need, for there are too few of us to do otherwise."

Disead seems momentarily thoughtful

"But to business...it's clear we have the same goals and needs in mind. I would like to make official both a charter of peace between us, and a pact of trade.

Our peace is for now, merely ensuring good conduct between us. No one of either tribe should harm another, nor should we leave one another to a dangerous situation without aid-such as my actions to your friends in the quicksand pit. Joint military defensive action is something I leave for future talks.

The pact of trade stipulates that all our members, and both our peoples may freely conduct commerce amongst ourselves without tariff or oversight by the ruling body. Let the traders do business, and we are both enriched, yes? If you agree, we should establish a mutual trading area where we all can meet.

Of course, I am also willing to sweeten the pot, by way of tribute, from our people to yours. If you feel the need to ask from us, we are prepared to do what we can to accomdate you-as a sign of respect to your superior strength.

Do we have a deal, or is further discussion needed?"

Oops. I'm human.

Oops. I'll get to fixing that.

Urist shakes his head. "If it were that simple, I'd say yes in a heartbeat. But the goblins are very protective of this land. We thrive by completely controlling the supply of a much demanded trade good. Oka is saying right now that he suspects that you folk are here to steal seeds and undercut our price. I doubt that, but I can't disregard the viewpoint of one of my Elders."

Oka clicks his tounge and stares foward.

"Besides" Gura chimes in "there would be no profit in trading with you folks. I've seen where you live, the part of the fortress you have access to only a few rudimentry workstations. Each sheet of our main export is worth two standard Gold Bars, there is no way in your current sorry state that we could make anything other than token trades with you. It stinks haveing to say that to someone to whom I owe my life, but its the Truth Disaed."

"They have man...er Elf power though." Mistaru quickly counters. "I'm sure those seven Elves alone have more useful talent between them than there is in your entire spoiled clan Gura."

"We have no use for your seeds. We have neither farmers nor farmland. We do, however, have two skilled magic users, a Deep Elf blacksmith, and one who is quite knowledgeable about the use of herbs."
