I'd better start making some 'special' food for later.

Selande will start making several Easy Meals with the food that is lying around. She will also make a few Easy Meals with two of the blood lichen mixed in for preformance boosting energy bar kind of sustenance.

Attend the negotiatons!
I'll go openly armed, but if asked to surrender my weapon at the door, I will do so as a sign of deference to our guest.

I'll attempt to wrangle a pact with him-in return for living here, we might provide certain special, hard to find or make materials at a reduced price, in return for a promise from both sides to share information about the the area, and possibly stand together against the humans. Make sure to mention we have many veteran warriors here-both a helpful remark, a subtle threat and a boast.

If everything goes good, I'll attempt to open the door to more regular trade between us.

Since Zrallin is going with me...try not to let him talk. He should listen and watch more than he speaks, gathering information.

"Disaed should definitely attend the negotiations, and I'd like to participate as well."

I address Dusk. "Since you're seem to rather good at finding things, I have request of you: look to see if you can find an herb or something that can relieve pain. Try to find something besides Blood Lichen; I think it might cause brain damage, and, in any case, it's probably not a good idea to induce a fight or flight response in someone with broken bones. If you can't find anything else, Blood Lichen will do fine, I guess, and you might as well pick some up if you see any. Anyway, do this for me, and I'll owe you one."

You wont be leaving until the end of the turn. What do you want to do until then?

All Elves:

Lunch consists of wolf meat. Selande refuses to eat food brought by goblins so she helps herself to a chunk of 'gator instead. The goblins dine with you and Towercap volenteers to feed the injured. Ochita and Caboose are acting strangely, perhaps they are just shaken up from the fight with the spirit.

-9 servings of wolf meat
-1 serving of gator meat

Dusk:

You overhear Disaed stating that fixing up Miriams ribs should be simple. You decide that you will be the one to do it. Disaed mentioned that an adhesive is required for the procedure. To get some you decide to follow a familiar smell which leads you to a lead pot under one of the beds in the hospitle. Amoung a bunch of Blood Lichen and Deathcaps you find exactly what you need.

You have stolen a Bloat Cap from Selande!

You have gained a level in Gathering!

You mash the fat mushroom up and mix it with the first liquid you come across; booze. The mixture forms a sticky paste which you slather on your chest for easy access.

-1 Bloat cap
-1 serving of river spirits
+1 unit of Bloat cap paste (stuck to chest)

You have gained a level in chemistry!

All prepared to operate you convince Miriam to drink most of the remaining stock of river spirits and to allow you to procede. As soon as she is sufficiently groggy you attempt to cut into her with your copper knife. Your first attempt fails to access her ribs, so you remove the clothes from her upper body and try again. You take your time glueing her ribs back together with your paste. You get every fragment of bone in the right place. You don't notice until you finish that Miriam has bled out.

-4 servings of river spirits
-1/2 of your paste
Miriam has died
[/b][/u]

Panicing you run and find Caboose working in the forge. You begin to ask questions about spirits in the afterlife. Eventualy you drop enough hints for him to figure out what you have done. He finishes his project and heads to the hospital. He quickly comes to the conclusion that Miriam is indeed dead. He tells you that opperating without decent medical knowledge is a direct violation of the laws of most elfin civilizations. He instructs you to stay in the hospital for the rest of the afternoon and overnight. The rest of the group will decide your fate over breakfast after the diplomats return. He then passes out and gets back up about a minute later, takes one look at Miriam's corpse, and the glaces at you. He then runs to the dining hall.

Some time later Selande enter the room and asks if you have seen a bloat cap. You convince her that you haven't, but in the process you say something that seems to offend her.

Caboose:

You find Ochita's body to painful for your liking. You decide to employ ice magic to force Ochita's sensory nerves into hibernation. The spell works, but it also affects your new motor nerves rendering you almost completely devoid of the sense of touch and the ability to move.

Ochita's body has achieved a state of nervous hibernation. You can break the spell at any time.

The goblins eventualy enter the dineing hall where you lie. You attempt to ask them about soup but you can't find a common language to speak to them in.

Sometime later you feel an upwelling of magical energy. You pass out and awake in your own body. You find yourself standing over the cut up corpse of Miriam. Dusk is also in the room and looks more scared than a deer faceing down a crossbow man. You wake up Ochita back in the dining hall and he explains the situation to you. He also requests that you grab a bowl of hot metal from the smelter and put it on the table next to him. You decide to comply.

You have returned to your own body!

Karratan:

Once again you travel through the caverns without incident. You arive at the Limonite vein and notice that boulder you mined has been moved about 50 yards. There is a fresh and half eaten Elk bird corpse nearby. You perform a breif search of the area and find large footprints in the mud, but no dragon.

Relived you break the boulder into chunks and take as much as you can carry. The return trip is slowed by the heavy ore, but eventually you return to your beloved smelter. You notice your supply of fuel has decreased and somebody has used the smelter without cleaning up afterwards. You move to scratch your head as to why somebody would do such a thing, only to find that your hair is covered in a sticky silk like substance. You pull a cave spider web off your head, and to your amazement you notice that a live but tangled cavespider is sitting in it.

You untangle the little spider and place it on the wall. It begins to make a web in one of the ceiling corners.

+1 unit of unprocessed cave spider web
+1 live cave spider

Selande:

You enter the meat industry room and examine the kitchen station. You find that it contains an oven and enough low grade wood and coal to keep it fueled for quite some time. It also contains more than enough pots, pans, and cookware to make food preparation a cinch.

+15 hours cooking oven fuel
+2 sets of cookware

You put the entire supply of plump helmets, jam, and fish eggs into a bowl and mash the contents all together. You stir the thick and lumpy substance for while before putting it in the oven. You let the concoction cook for about an hour before pulling it out and taking a whiff. It smells great.

-5 servings of cave caviar
-5 servings of plump helmet
-2 servings of fisher berry jam
-1 hour of cooking oven fuel
+12 servings of Fish egg pot pie

You have gained a level in cooking!

You enter the hospital to get your stash of blood Lichen and notice two things: Miriam is dead and one of your bloat caps is missing. Dusk is in the room covered in some weird gunk, looking guilty as a kobold caught in a gem stockpile. You accuse him of stealing your bloat cap and he denies it. You are not sure you belive him, but you decide to drop the topic and ask him if he would like to try something that you cooked. "Sure." he replies in his broken cavern talk. "ish good thing that you get more domestic, now that you only girl left." Ouch.

In a huff you take your stash of Blood Lichen as well as Miriam's small amount and storm back to the kitchen. You then begin to diligently separate the potent chemical into its three component parts. The pain numbing algae, the hallucinogenic fungus, and the energy boosting spores.

You have stolen a dose of Blood Lichen of Miriam's corpse!
-4 doses of blood lichen
+4 doses of blood lichen algae
+4 doses of blood lichen fungus
+4 doses of blood lichen spores

You take a couple chunks of gator meat and rip them into shreds which you sprinkle with the blood lichen spores. You puts the strips in the oven and cook the everloving crap out of them. They come out looking great, if not a little burnt.
-4 doses of blood lichen spores
-4 servings of gator meat
+4 servings of energy booster gator crisps
-1 hour of cooking oven fuel

Ochita:

Using your new and uninjured body you dash into the mint and notice the lead jar you used last time for metal melting is missing. Improvising you pick up one of the busted bronze trap components and use your geomancy to warp it into a wide bowl. You warm up a Billion bar in the shiny new smelter and then attempt you magically liquefy it. You fail on your fist two attempts but eventually you get what you need. Dusk comes in to bug you while you work asking strange questions such as "Do dead elf become like that spirit thing you made?" and "If you make somebody dead dose their spirit try to make revenge?". Eventually you deduce that Dusk has killed Miriam. As soon as you finish you rush to the hospital.

-1 broken bronze mechanism
+1 bronze bowl
-1 hour of furnace fuel
=3 billion bars
+5 units of scrap billion
+1 unit of melted billion (In bowl)

You arive at Miriam's bedside and confirm that she is no longer among the living. You then turn to dusk and begin to chew him out, telling him that what he has done is considered a crime in many places. You tell him that the group will determine his fate over breakfast, because somebody will have to leave for dinner. You inform him that he is to wait in the hospital until then. You then fall over and pass out.

You have returned to your own body!

You wake up on the table in the dining hall. You feel numb and Caboose is standing over you. He appoligizes and attempts to explain that you must have swapped back in the middle of surgery, and killed Miriam in the process. You cut him off and make sure he understands what really happened. You ask what he did to your body and he explains that your nerves are frozen into hibernation. This gives you a crazy idea. If you can't feel pain, you can get somebody else to cut you open, and then magic the metal onto your own ribs! You ask Caboose to fetch your bowl of metal so you can magicaly keep it warm until it is needed.

Disaed:

You use your dagger to carve some bones into nails for construction. The task is laborous and time consuming, but you eventually get it done.

-2 units of wolf bone
+22 wolf bone nails

You then set about working on your real project; wooden containers! Using your wits as a blueprint, bones as nails, and the pomel of your dagger as a hammer you assemble a few smaller wooden containers. You cannot atest to their quality, but at least they should hold some things without breaking.

-3 units of pinewood
+3 leaky pinewood cups
+3 lidless pinewood jars
+3 small pinewood boxes

You hear about Miriams death and Dusk's upcoming tribunal just before you leave with the goblins. You make a mental note to get back in time to participate in the event. It will make you feel powerful and important.

Zrallin:

You aproach the goblin Towercap and ask him to help you with some drills. The young greenskin looks exited that you asked and pulls two wooden training swords from his pack and dramatically challenges you to a duel. You spend hours slashing at each other with the harmless weapons while hurling insults and heroic one liners at one another. You try to focus on your dodging, but when all is said and done you feel that you have learned nothing.

Leaving the fortress you decide to search for a creature to befriend in hopes of training your pacification ability. You find some bear tracks and follow them for a bit but they disappear into a creek and you fail to pick them up again. You return to the fortress and are quickly cheered up by the news of Miriams death. You make a point to return in time for Dusk's tribunal, although it will take every ounce of willpower in your body to not nominate the murders suspect for a medal.

Zrallin + Disaed:

You leave the fortress around nightfall and follow the goblins to the longhouse. Horace informs you that there is no need to disarm, as he can kill you both in an instant. You enter the structure and Horace instructs you to sit at a large table that has been set up for the occasion. You are shortly joined by Horace, Urist, and the three goblin elders.

Urist is somewhat small, even by dwarven standards. He has an impressive flowing white beard and wears a necklace of strange blue keys. He looks intrigued by your presence.

Gura, whom you both met last night, introduces himself as the elder of the Swiftbolt family. His is dressed in a human leather jacket adorned with Royal Reed cloth. He seems polite and friendly, after all Disaed did save his life, but it is obvious he is skeptical about the idea of allowing you to stay.

A female goblin introduces herself as Mistaru, elder of the Neerocks. She is dressed in the tradition of the sludge elf cheifs of old; A fur cape, gem studded undergarments, and not much else. The other elders seem to be at least twice her age. She expresses an interest in letting the elves stay for a few months to help with the harvest, and then allowing them to set out and find their own home to settle.

The third goblin elder is dressed in a simple royal reed toga, which is smudged with glue and sawdust. A Goblin in her teens sits on his lap and introduces him as Oka, Elder of the Grandcheeses family. The female explains that Oka was made mute by an injury he acquired fighting the humans, and that she is his concubine and translator. Oka communicates with the others with a series of grunts and gestures, making it hard to read his thoughts and emotions.

Horace gives a brief report to the other goblins. "There are 7 of them. They just lost their greatest warrior, whom would have been 8. At least two among them practice powerful arcane magics. The two before you are Disaed, the one who saved the hunting party, and Zrallin who I have reason to believe is their last skilled warrior. They are no threat, and their fate is in our hands."

It is now Dusk. The next turn will cover 12 hours until dawn. Before I roll the next turn Zrallin and Disaed will RP with me the outcome of the meeting with the goblins.

You may have to wait. I can't see you performing the surgery on yourself without help, and the other skilled doctor is with the goblins. Dusk wasn't trying to do a bone metal implant, he was just pasting the ribs back together.
