Let's Play: Spelunky
« on: December 21, 2010, 08:29:00 pm »

I'll be attempting to run an LP of Spelunky, and this will be it's thread. I'll be using Hypercam 2, because camstudio, the only other free one I could find screws up when it records more than 2 megs of video. Expect bad quality for the first few episodes.

Example Video
Episode 1: The First of Many (Fails)

Looks like an interesting platformer I'd like to see more.

This is a masterful image of your FPS and the HFS. The HFS is committing a depraved act on your FPS.

Well, the spelunky craze did die down a few months back, and judging by his avatar, he probably came out of a deep freeze back from 1994, setting the device to thaw him out when another Dagger Fall is released, when the computer it was connected to found Dwarf Fortress and said, "close enough".

... I think Janet is starting to rub off on me.

Almost forgot, Spelunky can get repetitive to look at really fast, so comments and maybe even recorded audio might help freshen things up. You also might want to give more of an introduction to spelunky in either youtube or here, if only for professionalism, so that people who don't know about it can be better informed.

I will. This is just an interest check. If it actually takes off, I'll start putting annotations with my comments (Like the I'm not bad ones) explaining things and my thoughts. The first actual video will do the tutorial.

Isn't Spelunky not the best game to letsplay because of its grinding aspect? Unless I guess you can beat the game in one or two go throughs.

What are you talking about? How do you have to grind in Spelunky?

He might be talking about grinding to pay off the tunnel diggers, though it's not really grinding
