Breeding Pairs: giant and normal animals

Sooo the latest bunch of elf traders came to my fortress, and they brought with them a giant lion and a normal lion. My question is, if i get both, will they breed? Or do giant lions only breed with other giant lions?

Giant lions and normal lions are completely different creatures, and won't interbreed.
