Another neub qeustion thread

How do I refine Bituminous coal? And once I do that, can I use it in a smelter, forge, ect?

bituminous coal can be made into 3 units of fuel at a smelter. It requires one unit of fuel at a normal smelter, or the presence of magma at a magma smelter.

My smelter says "No tasks available. Check Mineral Access. Add fuel if necicary" with no options to do anything.

You're probably missing that 1 unit of fuel needed to start making fuel.

You can make a wood furnace and create some charcoal with a log of wood to kick start things.

ahhhh, I set a wood furnace to work a while ago, I guess my furnace operator is being lazy.

The fuel and/or coal may also be too far away, and as such won't show up.

Make sure your furnace operator has Wood Burning (in the Farming labour category) enabled, otherwise he won't burn the wood!
