So...

Carefully pry what you can see out of the mine with minimal vibration while floating on hoverboards (barely any Materials gained, but safe)
Restart Mining, get Material. (Steady Material flow again, but cause the burrowers to start appearing)
Ignore Mine. (Explain in post, please)

Don't suppose the Trader would be willing to share any useful info about this development, would he?

The (likely) Commander emerges, and shoots Trader in the head. Trader slumps.
"You finally admitted it!" He then notices ya'll armed people.
"Commander Axtei, Long-Distance SpecOps." He then recognizes Griph.
"Hey, its Mr.Loner! We all thought you went off and got yourself killed! Or something." He then picks the middle button off Trader's shirt.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

You add 5 couch guns, a Gatling gun, and various containers/chemicals to the Weapons pile.

I reckon that also welcomes Gustave to a massive supply of board games to use as doomy doom decoys?

Sweet! Well, now that Gustave's debt to the Trader has been erased with the execution, it's time for Mister Guischard to party! ...by scattering all of the pieces, dice, cards, boards, instructions, boxes, and tokens along whatever trenchworks he managed to make along the eastern way. Perhaps they'll act like the confusion traps from Evil Genius and force the attackers to go "Guh wha???"

Everyone (except Gustave, whos off making it impossible to play any of the board games) slowly backs away from Nodachi Nokami.
