Carefully pry what you can see out of the mine with minimal vibration while floating on hoverboards (barely any Materials gained, but safe)

Restart Mining, get Material. (Steady Material flow again, but cause the burrowers to start appearing)

We can get up to full scale, robot-making-robot industrial automation with little to no help right now, if we had the time and materials.

Tech:lasers, hoverships, fusion reactor/generators (with assistance), space travel good enough to reach the nearest in-system Imperial station in a reasonable amount of time. (or Republic, Alliance, etc. The galactic gov't isn't really important to the game, just Trader and his network of friends/affiliates/spies)FTL possible (just need to request the blueprints from the station), but we don't have the power or resources to build ships right now.

@armor: Medium creatures (like mooks or the armored beasties) are somewhere between average person and average elephant in size. Small creatures are no bigger than the largest cow. Tiny creatures are anything smaller than a pony. the armored things are on the elephant end of the medium scale.

Actually, no, Lillipad. The dice aren't conductive either. The railgun accelerates a metal 'casing', which has the projectile in it. The casing isn't used up, though. At least, currently.  It wouldn't be hard to make it work like a normal railgun if we had decent amounts of steel.

What we need to do is get a constant material supply...
If we have the miners mine an tunnel to the mines, then cave-in the normal entrance to the mines after clearing out the doomy doom monsters in it, could we then have a way to get a steady supply of materials?

I'll spoil it a bit and say there will be many, many, many dozens of doomies in the mines. If you're going to do that, you're going to need to be ready to literally blast the door down and NOT STOP SHOOTING. (and HAVE MANY LUCKY ROLLS, too, obviously)

@railgun: are you sure you guys aren't getting this mixed up with a coilgun?

That's a good idea, but we'd need someone to do the clearing out part.
Alternatively, we could just, you know, dig a mine from here and find whatever ores are in the vicinity.

Well, it is the MISC OBJECT RAILGUN, it is designed that way to take advantage of infinite free dice.

As for railgun/coilgun: No.
Railgun has the projectile completing a circuit between the rails, and the magnetic forces generated push it forward, really fast.
Coilgun involves, well, coils. Don't remember exactly how it works.

no, its just had no resistance to them settling in en masse (unlike the dome, or the surrounding jungle and its predators). you are likely to be eaten by a grue to all die via zerg rush if you fail twice with your gun rolls.

What hasn't succumbed yet, yes. eventually though, the doomies will be more powerful than the remaining natural fauna and likely just kill everything in their way on their way here.

Water report: Still safe, stockpiling reserves anyway.
Trade Report: Good.
Defensive Report: 2 deaths. Alas.
Engineering and Mining Report: Mines lost! Material reserves 85% used up reconstructing the generators! Annoying Recursive Crisis: Defenders needed here and now, But materials are critically low. Not enough materials to automate the defenses so as to send them to reclaim mining operations, but if we do not we will not have enough.
