You would love to make the techie do something, but he seems to be spaced out. Suddenly, he yells.

"I CAN FEEL THE MACHINE!" You would discard this immediately, if not for the fact that his lab equipment suddenly discharged even though there is several failsafes to ensure this doesn't happen.

After Valk gets a little less...Insane... He tells you what just happened to him.

"It appears Valkium screws with you a ton. I don't even want to know what a kilo does. Now, for some reason, I can hear the thoughts of machines. This is a pretty sweet deal, but it would be incredibly stupid to even try to sell this as a drug. It'd just led to a lot of superheroes, at best." Valk sighs.

I am just going to show you the races of the crew.

Valk: Nordic: Furry kobold-like creature, well adapted for life on extremely cold planets.

You: Human: Rather boring creature, a middleman. Tries to dominate galaxy politics, fails miserably due to a lack of interest.

K'alk: Insect-like humanoid. Oddly, it's a solo creature. Very good with weapons, thanks to evolving on a planet where sight is the best thing you could have.

You expose the mineral to the Blacks. They all are differently affected. There are 7 left, so you can see what happens to them.

1: Melded with weapons.
2: Exploded in gore.
3: Can shape body into weapons.
4: Nothing happened.
5: Turned into a horrifying beast with no sentience at all.
6: Constantly burning alive, while not dying.
7: Turned into a fluffy creature.

You would love to offer them further employment, but they still hate you. You shoot four and five.

You kill them all apart from the interesting ones, and then Valk studies them.

Huh. He seems to have really gotten into this. He somehow made a ultrasonic weapon meld into his arm.

After a few minutes of examination, he says that apart from the apparent powers, they are perfectly normal.

The next day comes, bringing you into day 5.

The supply drop falls. You get 10 supplies of food, and 2 more crew members!

Emily: Human Female Soldier.

Duinl: Unix (A creature that constantly releases a gas that shows the thing that the seer is afraid of in place of the Unix.) Scarer.

You have to send up your semi-weekly report of how the colony is going. You think about sending up a sample of Valkium.

us: barter with the trade ship with the gold you found, see what they offer.

techie:  build another drone
guard: build enough cots for all the colony members
emily: forage for food (also, what's your weapon?)
drone: figure out the surrounding terrain, more in depth
we need to save the valkium for ourselves

what exactly is Duinl?

Basically, he is made for freaking out anything that disagrees with you.

Emily has a combat rifle, with 20 clips.

It's not a trade ship, you just send important things back. Trade ships come later, when they figure out that you guys aren't dead yet.

Valk, thanks to his new technopath powers, can easily make a droid now, power or no power.

Emily comes back with enough food to increase the stock to 135!

It looks like beyond the wetlands, there are massive deserts strecting for two hundred miles, and then a jungle.

Oh, looks like you got a note too in the supply drop:

"Dear Colony-2123213123123A.

It looks like you have survived long enough to be allowed a satellite. Included with this note is the controller and viewer for the satellite.

Congratulations:

Colony Crop, the best source of colonies for the Federation.

Note: Thanks to surviving long enough, your colony can now be given a name! Post it to us!"

Shoop de whoop! You check the satellite. It appears that beyond the jungle is plains and the satellite cannot see further. Aw.

Also, what shall we be called?

colony name... hmm...

anyway...
...
i would assume the wetalnds has coal, i'm not sure what the desert will have, and the jungle will have lots of wood, wildlife, plants.

valk: upgrade satellite to pick up lifeforms.

droid 1: go to the jungle. bring back samples of what seems like edible plants(i will assume the droid can do that in one day, if not make it a two turn ordeal)
droid 2: 1(if mapping the world was in all directions) gather materials. or (if mapping was based on N/S/E/W) search world in different direction.

guard: mine out minerals/building materials in wetlands
us: build more , higher quality tools.
emily: explore an unexplored area

The wetlands wouldn't have coal. Coal requires pressure to form. They would have peat, which is what turns into coal when, say, a mountain forms on top of it. Peat can burn as well, and is burned in many parts of the world, but it doesn't have as high an energy density.

I support your actions.

Results!

Valk asks how in the living name of Sir Bumbleduck is he supposed to upgrade an object that's already in space?

Drone 1 doesn't come back. You check the last of his recordings. It seems he ran into some wildlife.

Drone 1 lost. A moment of silence for him... Anyway.

Drone 2 comes back with more Valkium, Gold, coal and some other mineral. Examination proves that other mineral is actually bond to the laws of physics. The problem is is that it is very radioactive. Guard comes back with gold and coal.

Emily finds another ruin. Explore it?

You build 40 higher quality tools.

interesting...

send guard with  macro-gun to the ruins. emily, while you're waiting, scavenge  around the ruins, do not explore yet

valk: build some drones

drone 2: begin building watchtower

us: build forge

Build a watch tower, in case the blacks decide to attack.
