Remember though, they aren't aiming for ascii graphics, if they were i would have given up on the game ages ago.

The name got changed to Unclaimed World, and yes there's a demo in the pipes, estimated for september/october, though that's a very shaky estimate. As far as I know development is still progressing, if rather slowly. It happens man, Doom wasn't made in a day and all that.
