For my most recent fort, the game chose the name "Certaintomb."

It was appropriate. In the fall of the eighth year, the fort fell to a beast syndrome that destroyed my dwarves' brains causing them to suffocate to death. It was horrifying.

"Yayyyyyy!!!"

"Burnshield" founded by the Mines of Fury. I think my friend hit the nail on the head when he said, "By the sound of that...you aren't mining so much as you're trying to KILL the mountain.

Speaking of which, how is fire in the new version?
out of personal experience, where a dwarf was set alight by a magmaman, ran up 150 flights of stairs, and divebombed into the booze stockpile, I'd have to say fire is the same as always.

Don't get too many interesting names.

Current fort is Bootclams, I guess that counts for something.

Not the name of any fort of mine, but I have an artifact which depicts the founding of "SquidTorches" by the parent civ.  Also not exactly randomly generated but:  A few years ago I had an interesting week:  Tuesday:  move my classroom across campus, Wednesday:  helped a colleague move do the same, Thursday:  Moved my residence,  Friday:  started an internship with my church where I moved a bunch of stuff for the church for a retreat,  Saturday:  moved that church stuff back for Sunday service,  Sunday:  Moved that church stuff back to the retreat.  I declared to my housemates that my new home should be called "The Hills of Infinite Moving,"  but they didn't get the joke.

There was a community fort named "Ballballs" and I, as the child I am, thought it was hilarious.

!!Elves!! would actually be kinda cool as a civ symbol.  !!Clowns!!, however, you get the impression they're on fire of their own free, malicious, evil, will.

Also, much scarier if literally clowns.

Fightcave. Those dwarves knew what they were getting into.

Rule Number One:  Don't talk about Fightcave.

One I had was called Sacksizzled.

As much as I'd like to say I have, I've yet to get a "crotchanus" (those words are indeed in the dictionary)...  Though "Shipswater" is a recent fort.  It was in the middle of a desert.  To try and live up to the name, I started pumping water from the cavern, but that brought about death by cave crocodile and FB.

"Cudgeljoys". All I can picture is numerous dwarves beating the living gibs out of everything.

Windytombs

It was a coastal redsand desert. Ended up killing half the fort in a flood trying to get a desalinization plant going.

Good times.

A while back someone made a thread announcing the founding of Certainfailure.  I wonder what happened to that one?
