I recently started up a 40d fortress called Woundlabor.

It happens to be the one in which I dorfed several friends of mine.  Hopefully we'll live up to the name.

"Hatchetminds" is rather conjuresome.

"Sanctumstaff".
It IS a sanctum, what with all the guards and stuff, but I don't see how the staff part fits in.

Once had a fort named Fortressballs. Another one was called Crystalarches. I ended up making a bunch of arches out of crystal (and clear when I ran out) glass, leading down into my fort proper.

While not fortress names, in my current game, my dwarves are from an extinct civ called the Fleshy Pick they are/were the mortal enimies of the Hate of Women. Current fort is called Hammerbones, but it doesnt count since I made the name.

Silverbeak is my current one, I also had one that was called Shieldstorm (or something like that) once.. I always randomly generate names (though keep hitting 'r' until I find one I like) so I see some crazy ones occationally.

The best randon-genned name I've ever had gifted to me was Canyonshark.  It was indeed in a canyon, and it droves dwarfs mad.

Seriously, one dwarf skipped the whole mood thing and just went berserk.  About 30 seconds after he first migrated to the fort.  Canyonshark just sent dwarves mad.

Dwarf Fortress in a nutshell. It includes dead things, parties, and getting really excited over updates.

I recently genned a fort called Dragonlabor, which was pretty cool, but it turned out to be unplayable.

I found a human town in adventurer mode called Cupsballs.
