I wanted to start randomly killing peasants with my skilled kicker, but since there's now bogeyman in the game(I'm going to try and throw them out of the game for my killing spree)I decided to go for a bandit camp someone has told me about for a quest.  After luckily having only the warlord there, i threw a chest I found and my starting spear, but kept the knife for what I'm hoping to be duel wielding soon.

Well, this just happened in the battle:

You attack the Warlord but she jumps away!
            The spinning Large Copper Dagger strikes the Warlord in the upper body,bruising the muscle,jamming the left false rib through right lung, tearing the right lung!
The warlord is having trouble breathing!
You pick up the dagger in your right hand.
The Warlord misses you!

One attack later...

You stab the Warlord in the upper body with your large copper dagger, bruising the muscle and shattering the left false rib through the Rope Reed Fiber Cloak!

Sadly this throw was only two spaces away but it was awesome in my eyes!  I'm still fighting her too, just hoping I don't die in this one on one fight.

Just wait until your throwing skill gets high enough.
I've killed many,many adversaries from multiple tiles away using my steel throwing knives.
Took down a lion in two throws.

My legendary thrower uses bone spears and they do about as much good as making funny faces at the enemies would.

I'm all about the black sand throw.  I wish you could aim it at the eyes for a temporary blindness!

Throwing a decapitated head is always pretty good too.

Nope, end-over-end.  That's why it just tore apart the eyelid, instead of embedding itself in the eye.  The point on the end just barely nicked his face before...somehow missing her completely.  It's complicated.

I found that a good way to train throwing is to sneak, staying out of view distance of your enemy, and repeatedly throw rocks until either they die, give in to pain, or fall over from spine/foot trauma.

I just chopped a night creature mate in half with one fell swoop of a heavy axe, after being advised to use a dwarf character to get revenge.
