John orders the marines to enter and surround the tower, Medics hidden behind the marines. He then orders to concentrate fire on the scouts.

Follow John's orders: aim and fire.

Despite some well placed shots, they just seem to be too far away to hit and cause any major damage.  (no damage)

Amelie drops prone and aims for their medic...

Dropping to the ground and putting her eye to the scope.  Time seems to slow around Amelie.  She lines up a shot and then pulls the trigger, the medic is frozen in place.

John orders the marines to enter and surround the tower, Medics hidden behind the marines. He then orders to concentrate fire on the scouts.

As your marines open fire the entire scouting group is frozen in place with no medic to heal them.  Of course naturally they will unfreeze in 2 minutes, but still not bad for an opening salvo.

"Alright, to the North Side of this Plateau, everybody MOVE! Also you guys are improving on your shooting skills, you guys might be as good as a Ghost."

John moves his men to the north side of the plateau. The one we're on.

Amelie moves forward, scanning the ridges-eyes and mind-for snipers.

"You got it boss..."

Good shot huh? That dumb bastard needs to learn to keep his head down...

"Amelie, I can't help the feeling that you're subtly insulting me. Also, Nicholas, would you like to explain why those shots didn't do any damage?"

"It's hard for most people to aim at that distance," Nicholas suggested. "Only by massed fire did we take them out. The rifles have been modified to fire designator lasers. Receivers on the suits read the signal and register hits. At least, that's how I understand it. I don't claim to really understand."

"It seemed to me, sir, Nicholas dropped his aim a few inches right before he pulled the trigger. Sun or grit in his eyes, probably-it was scored as a glancing shot would be my guess, ruled as a non-lethal, non-jarring hit. Range was an issue, for sure."

And that's why they're training us. CMC armor is partially sloped-designed to deflect gauss shots, like a tank does...if you don't hit the right place, your not hitting anything at all...

Follow orders, keeping low, and healing when need be. Attempt to also fire your needle gun when the orders to fire are given.

"Sir, a few of us should stay at the sniping tower to prevent the group we spotted from waking up and flanking us as well as providing covering fire. I'd suggest 2 marines and a medic, and I'd suggest that Deb and Amelie stay here: Amelie has the best sights and Deb is great at shooting at long ranges."

After offering her opinion, Emily crouch at the cliff edge and scan the valley with her scope.

"Hey John, I know you don't approve of that, but this shopkeeper had to be taught a lesson. I guess he won't be shooting Marines anytime soon."

"Very wel- Wait.
You beat up, and or KILLED that guy? What in the sam hell is wrong with you?! Even Confederate Marines don't go into shops and beat up shopkeepers if no harm was done! You, ma'am, are a paragon of stupidity."
John contemplates shooting her like the Commissars of old, but calms himself and gets back to the mission.
John also orders a fireteam of 4 to stay at the Sniper tower, consisting of Deb, Amelie, another Marine and a Medic.
"Oh right, hey Amelie, why don't you go read their minds? Might dig up something useful."
