((Still fits the TROPES I'm going for a bit better, I think- either way we have no Chick, but hey. Yes, no Chick. The point of the Chick is basically to keep the other people from getting too aggressive. We don't exactly have any tension diffusers. IronyOwl is the Smart Guy, thus leading Comp to fill the alternate role of, well, Medic. And the change still simplifies. And IronyOwl's around a bit more, I think, as well...*shot*))

The trope I'm blabbing about the group being- a FIVE MAN BAND. Less often than not an actual music group, but you should get the idea.  Allow me to fill in character roles. WITH THE NEWLY PROPOSED GROUP:

The Hero : Dare I say it, this is probably me, Nicholas. Nicholas has the right sort of characteristics: he’s young, idealistic, and driven. He’d almost certainly make the best figurehead and spokesperson for the group, because he is the most heroic and he’s not afraid to tell anyone that. Which again, makes him the obvious Hero. What a surprise. If the Hero wasn’t Nicholas, it would definitely be John, though.

The Lancer: Phantom, aka John. The second-in-command, basically, and a foil to the Hero. If you don’t see the contrast between Nicholas and John, read the thread again. While Nicholas and John have the same basic goals, they have very different means of achieving them. If he looked better in the media, he could compete with Nicholas as permanent leader, but as it stands, he’s a rebel, so...

  The Smart Guy: IronyOwl, aka Deb. Clearly the one who’s most interested in fancy tech and information, therefore the smartest. Pretty simple, though not the strongest qualification there could be.

The Big Guy: Adwarf, aka Aaron. He’s a Firebat. Again, simple, though not the strongest possible qualification. Develop that as you go.

The Medic: Comp, aka Xavier. First, he’s a Medic, so this is a no-brainer. The Medic tends to fill the role of the Chick, regardless of gender, and that role is basically to keep the peace between the other party members. Sadly, he’s not really there yet, so it’s a little iffy, but hey.

I wouldn't necessarily mind merc or pirate service after getting out legally, but deserting and then defecting to one of their greatest enemies sounds like nothing but trouble. That might change depending on what happens, of course- if I'm assumed dead by the Dominion and someone gets me out of a jam, I'm likely on their side now.

Still, I doubt I can be one of the founding members of the TEAM.))
