Decompress saves?
« on: December 18, 2010, 12:45:36 pm »

Is there a way to decompress a compressed save?  I'd like to convert my fort from a compressed save, and (after changing the init setting) continue with it decompressed.

I know I stumbled across somebody talking about a utility that could do that a while ago, but I can't find that now, or remember if it was a work in progress or finished.

I've had Dorf's wh ohave pulled a Monty Python's Black Knight. They've had limbs chopped off and just keep coming. Although most of those are my patented "Spartan Dwarfs."
except in DF, the "I'll bit your legs off" threat is serious.

All you need to do is turn off savegame compression, load the game, then save it again.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
