Konczewski sat in his office, brooding on recent events. The fiery statue of Aaron had been extinguished but all attempts to move, or destroy, it had been unsuccessful. Aaron had become even more influential than before. A controversial idea had spread through most of the worshipers of Irol, God of Thunder. They all think that she is the prophet of Irol, come to save us from anything that could happen. "All of them but me." thought Konczewski.
His thoughts were interrupted when Snaggletooth arrived with one of those pale, cat-like skitches close behind him and two orange fast walkers bounded past him and lay down in front of his desk. The war animals had arrived.
"Snaggletooth, have those engineers decided on a well design yet?" said Konczewski, finishing off the latest bits of paperwork that came with being mayor.
"Yes, they've already started construction on it."
"Good, tell that broker that he isn't to sell any tin."
"What tin?" said Snaggletooth, curiosity staining his voice.
"Just do it! Tell those engineers to start on wall fortifications too!"

More to come soon.

"Things got interesting" I believe this is a lie to bait us in. I see nothing happening...

I always have at least one post of material between this thread and the actual game. Here's some words as a teaser for tomorrow's post: water, first contact and Konczewski (yes, more Konczewski).

In the following months, Konczewski finally got around to marrying Lucy. They forgo any formal celebrations but Konc still demanded a wedding present from the craftsmen of the fortress. He recieved Lancertrusses, a mussel shell stuntsman's helmet.
Konczewski also tasks the miners with finding any and all metal ores they can, resulting in sections of wall being mined inside the fortress and a second cavern being breached.
Oh, and another child is born. Named Abba.

The animal trainer had gathered materials for hours before locking himself in the craftsman's workshop and now the door was finally opening. He walked out triumphantly, dragging a rather plain bone coffin out with him.
He threw his arms up in the air and said: "I have made Cleanwindy, The Ivory Urn."
Konczewski nodded to Lucy and she gestured to the security guards waiting nearby. They seized him and Lucy read the charges. "You are charged with wasting fortress resources. Specifically nine piles of bone, three gems, two logs and a tanned hide. The punishment for this is imprisonment for three months."

With a new election comes a new mayor, the demoman in charge of traps, but Konczewski keeps the mayor's quarters. Following some bribery, the new mayor orders the construction of an execution platform on the west wall for serious offenses.

Ahab went into the new well room to fill up his flask. It was good to see the thing finally filling with water after the engineers realized that the lever wasn't connected to the floodgate. It was nice to see all that water but something felt wrong. Everyone else seemed to be feeling the same way. Soon the water was spilling out of the well and everyone hastily made their may out. As Ahab was leaving the broker pushed past him muttering something about a lever. When he came out he saw that the entrance to the well room was being sealed up. As they finished the seal the splashes and screaming from the broker could be heard but it had to be sealed for the good of the fortress.
To take his mind of the broker, Ahab went above ground. He just went into Bogdan's Inn, grabbed some prickle berry wine and sat down to listen to the shouts of traders. Traders?

Ahab looked through the window and saw the crowd that had appeared outside. He could see people from almost every faction unpacking goods and filling their wagons with Aaron's stone trinkets. When he saw Konczewski arguing with the BLU merchant he opened the window. He still couldn't hear what Konczewski was saying but he could now see Konc's personal guard taking their pick of the weapons and armour that had been bought. Konczewski was already wearing an HEV suit breastplate and Counter-terrorist issue gloves though his trademark rocket launcher was nowhere to be seen. "Spies!" shouted Konczewski, loud enough to be heard from the window.
Everthing seemed to happen in slow motion from this point. Konczewski's guard picked up the nearest available weapon and ran to Konc's aid, he was already trying to beat an engineer to death. She was the first to go down, from a spanner to the cranium, but not before cutting Konc's upper leg. The BLU demo-swordsman cut down an unarmed recruit with his iron claymore, his eyes glowing unnaturally, only to attempt a retreat and be pushed off the drawbridge by another recruit with a fire axe and drown.
By this time the first of Snaggletooth's rangers were arriving, a shotgunner took care of their pack animals while a pyro fired grenades at the well-armored engineer that was causing grievous bodily harm using her silver bone saw before a spy slashed her skull open with his bronze butterfly knife. The final BLU, a demoman merchant, was bludgeoned with a baseball bat before someone took a machete to his head and killed him.
When it was over, Ahab suddenly realised that he had been wearing his sword the whole time.
