The animal sponsorship drive is concluded.  I'll still be contacting everyone who donated and is sponsoring an animal of course, and hopefully that will all be handled within the week so we can post the final list!

I don't want people to get confused, so I'm going to keep this locked up for the time being.  Any side discussion can continue on elsewhere in this section.

I assumed they were in a loose order of donation/ease/interest to placed into the game.

Oddly, I'm looking forward to Termites, if they have appropriate antics. I wanna have my wooden structures suddenly collapsed.

I didn't get it: seven days were spent in sorting the results or implementing the animals in-game also?

It took seven days to sort the results, but it's not like it was the only thing Toady did this week.

I'm guessing about six and a half days of that was making sure everyone had had enough time to respond to the various "thanks for a donation, did you want to sponsor an animal" emails...

Since I replied to my sponsorship e-mail 4 days ago, and my animal is second last, I think they are ordered chronologically from when they were sponsored.

I assume that this order is number of votes unless Toady says otherwise. I would want to know how many times exactly every animal was sponsored...

Or just only you sponsored it. I bet that down half of list are single donation for one animal.

I wonder also if various variations of "same" animal would be add up and faster done in this way? We have three kind of seals and I do not really think they are sufficiently various for coding purposes, so they should be put in all at once.

In fact, I think that every sponsored animal that do not require additional coding (or it is not viable for it for good reasons, like multitile monsters being hard to code and moved later in development) should be put already in for 0.31.19.
