Perhaps an Arctic Fox might be a good addition to this list?

There's dozens of types of fox, sure, but glacial embarks tend to have only two (+2 on evil glaciers) aminal types.

I'm surprised the wombat and its invincible rump shield have gotten no love. It seems like the perfect dwarven helmet.

If we get pig, we also should have wild boar.

I already voted crabs, though, but boar have my support too if not paid for. :)

I just realised; a vote for sponges means a vote for sedentary animals, which I'm pretty sure we don't actually have in game. That means a tag in the raws for stationary creatures! Things like animate statues that can attack but not move, and maybe even lay the ground work for partial or complete petrification effects.

Or Toady could be boring and make them underwater bushes...

Or sponges with arms. And legs. That raid your fort to steal pants.

Capture them and let them work as slaves in the kitchen making burgers for your suspiciously fish-like dwarves.

Donated, sponsored the armadillo. Shell-bearing hot climate creatures need a little more diversity.

I want to donate for the Japanese Macaque or Snow Monkey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Macaque but they are not on the list >:(

It would be awesome to include them along with hot springs the possibilities are endless!
But most importantly we could see this:

They should be treatet as a whole new race, much cooler neighbours than stupid elves.

Presumably the fact that we already have a kind of macaque factors into this omission.
