Fought off an entire party of goblins that ambushed me. I beat them all by severing their limbs and disarming them. ...then a single goblin comes up behind me, with no limbs left, and bites me in the head, crushing my skull and killing me instantly. WHILE I WAS WEARING AN IRON HELMET.

Observer, Swordsman, Ambusher, Swimmer and Misc. Obj user, all of adequate or above.

 Survived an ambush recently. I was excited, so many kills and such a good fight.

I was thirsty, out of water. Hey, theres a river near by!

Saw on a thread about what you don't want to see put in, an idea of dragons that mature in 10 years and lay 10 eggs at a time...

So I took it a step further, and made them ambush predators, the same as wolves :-D

The sad part is, it wasn't the pack of dragons that just killed me... It was the giraffe running away from them. Dumb hooves.

My latest adventurer, a kobold, was killed by a human child. Guess I should have thought before I entered the hamlet at nightfall.

Fighting off zombie ravens.

Killed one in the air above me and the falling raven corpse corpse jammed my skull through my brain.

Somehow, I can get attacked by a night creature with no companions and win, but not win against a small group of wolves.

(First post, woot)

I was playing Genesis 3.29, and getting really in to crafting fancy armor, and I had a moment where I thought this dwarf was going to go far in the game.
Then I while crafting I seen "Conjure Fire Bolt" so out of curiousity I clicked it.
Checked my inventory, and yay free bolts. I dropped all my old conventional bolts and decided to move on.
I walked one space, and burst in to flames and melted in to a little dwarf puddle.
I guess they weren't kidding when they said "Conjure !!FIRE!! Bolt"

I was sent on a quest to slay a consort of evil in her nearby lair.

I made my way to the lair and opened the door, expecting to fight the consort one-on-one, only to find what appeared to be a family reunion.

I was beaten to death by the consort's mate and offspring.

For me:

First game:  Kobold hunting party in the wilderness.

Second game:  Bogeymen. Was peeved by this one, I was doing quite well.

Third game: Kobold criminals in the basement of a cathedral in a dwarven city.

Armok doesn't appreciate excessive confidence and takes a hand every now and then to humble his subjects.

Well, maybe the new non-lethal combat system will work around it by having bogeymen beat the shit out of you, but not intentionally kill you. When it's implemented, of course.

Think you jinx'd my game. After reading this, went back to my own game, and had to cross a river. Swam no more then 2 tiles, and it froze..  :(
