So I discoverd a shrine recently in genesis. Curious and hoping to get glory quicker, I entered it. Unfortunately there was a bronze colossus, which I threw a flaming arrow at. It was then a !!Bronze colossus!!. and then I became !!me!!.

Recently I was playing as a human who's civilization completely controlled its island, except for one kobold race that had been stealing from them for a thousand years.  I found their cave, and effortlessly slaughtered the kobolds one at time as I descended through their cave, getting literally dozens of pages of gems and scepters and crowns that they had stolen.  When I finally get to the main chamber at the bottom, I find a mass of around twenty kobolds spread throughout it, who immediately swarm me, crawling on top of each other to get to me, until finally one of them did something horrible to my leg, dooming me to death by a thousand cuts.

The moral?  One kobold is pathetic.  Twenty kobolds with silver slicing knives is butchery.

Thought that when I tried to grab my opponent's weapon, I'd be able to wrestle it away from them. Grabbed a sword, apparently by the blade, and cut an artery. Passed out from blood loss almost instantly, and several pages of instantaneous combat text later, I bled to death.

Wait...that's possible now? You sure he didn't miss or got your hand cut? Interesting...

That's whatch'ya wear gloves and gauntlets for! Duh.

And, um, I've been shot without knowing where my assassin was turning me into a pin-cushion from. I hid behind a tree, and when I stepped out from behind it, I took a bolt to the face. I have been shot and killed.

Play a new skill layout in adventure mode.

started a simple swordsman, went to my first quest with a few soldiers, go to the cave with the night fiend, and LOP! my head hes instantly chopped off the first step I make.

Here I am 3 days later with a guy who's almost legendary in every skill and the only serious injury he has is a missing finger.

So i took some companions to kill a Minotaur i soon as i found him this popped up the minotaur punches you in the head shattering the skull throuh the brai yo have been struck down

Exactly what a few of my companion's deaths were when I first encountered a minotaur. Well, they got gored in the face with his horns, but close enough.

I've been having more problems with DF crashing than I can really put up with, so adventure mode hasnt been an option lately. Most of my deaths though were caused by my adventurer being hostile to their own civ as soon as I fast travel out of town to take on my quest, then being pelted with various arrows and bolts form the many, many hunters in the population of that race. Think it has to do with banditry being set to 55 or so. Other than that, it's been the bogeymen.

Raided a fort for my full addy armor suit and sword. Walk into the first village, and try to slice a child. Child dodges. Child counter attacks. Child punches Urist McNohelmet in the head. The skull is fractured, and the brain is broken. Yep, I forgot the helmet.

Killed in self defense by Ilan Sugaryswallowed the human miner. I had gone on a killing spree, crushing peoples' heads with another person's head. She had gravely wounded me with her pick, and I crawled to the door in an attempt to escape with my life. Of course that didn't exactly work out. I had killed over twenty in my rampage. I hope they make her a statue or something, she deserves it.

I had recently built a stairway into the HFS so my adventurers could go down there and fight the clowns. The first few attempts failed but at least one epicly tragic story came out of them. I decided that I would need a bunch of trained adventurers if I was to have any chance down there so I spent a lot of time training and gathering a league of adventurers. Unfortunately when it was time to go forth and smite evil I couldn't find some of them, leaving me with a dwarf hammerlord, a human swordsman, an elite elf archer and a dwarf axe lord who I chose as my character. All of them were super in most of the important attributes. Well we arrive at the fort and make our way down into the depths. We encounter the first clown as we are making our way down the cotton candy spire but the elf knocks it off the staircase with a well placed shot and its mangled body is left at the bottom. I go down to finish it off. Taking a look at its description I notice it has deadly dust, not good. I get a few hits in before it breathes out a dust cloud. I get knocked back several tiles but am otherwise uninjured, the same cannot be said for my companions. Both the human and the elf are killed instantly. The Other dwarf is crippled and quickly killed by another clown. I go into a martial trance and take down a few clowns made of soot but before long a tougher enemy comes along. My martial trance prevents it from getting any solid hits on me but it eventually runs out and I am promptly slaughtered.

So I'm wandering around, killing night beasts and taking down bandits, just generally getting the whole "adventuring hero" thing down. I soon realize that there are few challenges to be had on the island I was on after all of the dangerous stuff was taken care of, and decide to swim to the nearest landmass. I fast travel to the shoreline, and once I leave fast travel the world implodes and I die instantly. I was sad.

About my third try at making an adventurer, I'm an AxeHuman and I have a small army behind me as I have killed bandits, night beasts, minotaurs, titans and many other monsters.
I'm heading to my next quest, which is half way across the continent I'm on. Suddenly I'm ambushed by bog trolls (I'm using Forlorn Realms.) and five minutes later half my small army is dead.
I have, about, 25 followers without any of them dying. Anyway, I'm hacking at heads, upper bodies and lower bodies and only occasionally noticing a swordsman or bowman I had.
I've taken down more than half of the bandits all alone, facing three or four at a time. Then the leader comes along, presumably after finishing off five more of my men.
They all stop fighting my followers and just run at me. Several rounds later I'm dead.
I still think it was kind of an awesome way to die. Taking down bandit after bandit and then being labeled the highest threat. Or all my companions died and I was the only one left, I forgot to check.

Legendary fully armed and armoured adventurer. I go to strangle a duck for training, duck dodges, bites my neck, I die. Duck gets a title.

Next adventurer goes on a wild goose chase for the Duck, I actually find him! I go to kill it sadly it dodges my spear and causes fatal heart damage with it's bite, somehow.

Next I get an archer to take out, it dodges all of my arrows and hops into a lake. I follow it and the Duck gets of the lake at the other side, as soon as the Duck gets out of the water the lake freezes! Cunning bastard.

Finally I get an adventurer swordsman gathers a bunch of soldiers that somehow get there asses handed to the BY A DUCK!

A DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK! UUUUAHHHH!
