1.0, here is the story of my first playthrough / gameplay journal with a classic tinker build. I am not very good at Qud but its great fun regardless.

With beak and brittle bones, Owl flew into Qud.
The village of Dammu was full of fractus.
Owl was tasked with drinking from a clay pitcher and finding some ruins.
From the dromads, Owl purchased ammunition for weapons he did not yet possess.
Owl stole some books from one of the outlying tents, which happened to be constructed from Equimax skin.
As well, he swiped a two-handed steel battle axe from a weapon chest.
Owl flew south to the village of Narash and found it to be full of strange creatures, including a gigantic salt kraken. The tents were made of human skin.
Owl then discovered The Clay Pitcher of the Holy Peridot and drank some water from this most precious of vessels.
A legendary dawnglider requested that Owl should travel to another location and rest upon the Godly Rolling Chair, for it was just that ergonomic.
Owl became lost in the salt dunes, however, in due time he discovered a dromad caravan. This dromad was well stocked with various trinkets. Owl sold a book about entropic reactions for some water, to continue his travels without thirst.
Owl's next quest was located 3-7 parasangs north of the lair of some legendary glowfish. Owl was not sure why some fish was considered such a legend in this region.
Owl came upon a group of pariahs in the desert: a ghost perch, a leech, a rustacean, a disciple of the sightless way, and a herding dog. They were led by Si-Moojr, the legendary Arconaut Pariah, who was hated and disliked by many villages for untrustworthy acts.
Si-Moojr's steel dagger glowed red as the sun set.
Owl shared the water ritual, and in return, Si-Moojr revealed the location of a pig ranch in the hills, where the rancher was said to have things worth stealing. Owl considered this a poor lead and not something worth investigating.
Owl found a group of issachari raiders who were set upon by a flock of dawngliders. Some of the raiders chased after Owl as he fled the scene of the fight.
Owl turned to fight the raiders, and in three strikes felled the first one.
Further wandering was conducted yet Owl found no sign of his quest. Instead, he discovered the campsite of Caseph Tobidias, Favorite of the Argent Fathers, who was disliked by mollusks for reprogramming their favorite robot.
Owl spent all night learning from this legendary mechanimist, eventually discovering how to build a laser rifle, though he lacked the neccesary pristine electronics to complete the schematic.
Owl discovered some ruins inhabited by issachari and began to fight them. Then two scorpiocks lunged out from the old buildings, suprising everyone, and Owl ran quickly to avoid their paralyzing stings.
Owl was surprised by another group of issachari, but this time one of them carried a rifle. Owl flew north dodging rounds from the gunner, killing two raiders who chased after him.
With some luck Owl might surprise this raider and take their weapon..
Owl's soft step and quickness allowed for hasty flanks, and thus he ambushed the gunner and quickly killed him. The rifle would prove essential to surviving the salt dunes.
A strange creature was spotted in the desert - a 'Daughter of Exile' - but before Owl could speak with this creature they were shot down by a pair of issachari gunners.
Owl domed the gunners with only a few missed shots and walked up to the deceased 'Daughter of Exile'. They carried many artifacts of great value, including a vibro-blade and a semi-auto pistol.
Later, while making camp, Owl was set upon by an issachari gunner from the shadows, and shot in the wings. A protracted gun battle ensued with Owl escaped south into the marshlands.
Owl took time to convert some of the dissasembled Issachari Rifles into Solar Cells to power his new vibro-blade. As well, more bullets…
Owl learned how to modify gloves to include a dextrous sixth finger from the legendary barumthrumite arconaut Shatti Othotti.
Owl discovered some fungal ruins and a water weep to the eastern side of the salt dunes.
Owl shared water ritual with Caw-CAAW-caaw-CAAAAAAAAW-caaaaaaw-CAAAW the songstress, merry glowcrow, who was disliked by mollusked for eating all their fruit.
Now, birds of all kinds simply loved Owl.
Finally, after many days of wandering, Owl just happened to discover Mikh at the end of a salt river.
Owl discovered there some steel boots, a hulk honey injector, and a high explosive grenade. As well, Owl discovered the location of a series of sultan related events and histories, and vowed to visit these locations later on in his quest to explore Qud.
Owl found some ancient library in the dunes, covered in oasis vines, and a lone trash monk who fought a scorpiock.
Owl learned how to use a rifle from the villagers of Dammu, as thanks for their quests completion.
Owl then made the pilgrimmade to the Six Day Stilt and purchased some bullets there, as well as donating many books to the library.
Owl wandered for weeks in the salt dunes, collecting old books and artifacts. At one point he encountered a laser rifle wielding walker robot and was forced to flee.
Owl fought with many issachari in the ruins, and was threatened by death after choosing to eat a Luminous Hoarshroom, not understanding this would freeze him solid. A follow up snack of some witchwood bark gave Owl enough life to escape the ruins and incessant bullets.
Owl ventured east into the hills, where he delved underneath an old tower full of angry hogs. On the third level, Owl was picking through locks when he opened a particularly juicy cache of ancient goods, only to feel a strange force seize the base of his mind and squeeze. A great legendary turtle brimming with psychic power now sat before him, willing him to death. Despite his vibro-blade swings and multiple grenades, the turtle stood strong, and after what felt like an eternity (but was only a mere 15 seconds),
Owl's head exploded.
And thus ends Owl #1 of Caves of Qud 1.0, killed to death by Nirleloleb Norlolab the Cantakerous, legendary irritable tortoise.
