I have no trouble killing beasts, but I don't have the methods ready to catch one. My question is if their webs are more valuable than usual? If so I may bother trying to catch this and set up a silk farm.

Pffft, dwarves would just orbital magma it, or send a champion wrestler to punch it and [somehow] bruise the brain. Then hollow it out for the Obsidian bath to make it  their new fortress and use it to pierce HFS HQ. well until the wussy angsty HFS kid in a giant Flesh and steel titan shows up, but then again they both might be able to fit on one square, this is dwarf fort where dragons can walk down the same narrow path that a kitten can walk down, and vice versa...

I've heard a few people claim that FB can be caught in cage traps. They have [TRAPIMMUNE], but a cave in that stuns them negates this tag allowing them to be captured if they are stunned on top of a cage trap. I assumed Toady hardcoded FBs to be immune to traps even though this but apparently not. Presumably, clowns can be caught in the same way.

But as someone mentioned earlie, FB webs are currently glitched and are never produced.

I've seen it mentioned that FBs also have [NOSTUN]. I believe it was said the only reliable way to capture a FB is (ironically enough) using webs.

I could have sworn i'd stunned one before. And now I'm sad about the no webs part. Well I already built my cave in traps so I guess I can try anyway. Will post the results tonight.

yes yes.  nostun for titans, fbs and clowns.  All are vulnerable to webs though and will get caged if the trap is webbed.  Spread the word and have fun

However....maybe FB webs are broken right now, mine never seems to use it anyway

Bah what a waste, it used invisibility teleport to invade my fortress (read: I wasn't looking), didn't shoot any webs, and caught one of my dwarfs off guard who decided it was time to pick up a dress in the bottom of the cavern. Said dwarf is missing his foot now, and a random soldier killed the Kite.
