Thanks for calling a man with a honest opinion a troll. It always improves the situation, don't you think?

I am surprised at the amount of people here thinking that men and women are equal, while women are usually (statistically speaking) better motivated, better at complex tasks, less prone to violence and more empathic than men...
Yeah... I'm calling BS on this until you provide a reliable source. As in, not wikipedia, and not a source that paints everything in a feminist light.

Because you were apparently in a hurry, I wasn't able to get more references (or to be more specific, more specific search terms), but these should at least shed some light on my reasoning.

As a dude who interacts with other dudes, I happen to know they are quite stubborn. Ever heard of the everpresent husband who got lost, but won't ask for directions? Yeah.
Even though I don't agree with what Virex said, the reaction to his view is quite illuminating.

I am fine with saying women can process a face better than men. I'm also more than fine with men being stronger than women.

I have no problem with the idea that there are certain gender-related tendencies or natural inclinations, but I don't think I'm the first in this thread to point out that they're far from universal.  The amount of deviation and crossover present makes observation of these tendencies almost worthless.

I'm also of the opinion (which admittedly I have no hard information to back up with) that cultural reinforcement exaggerates the perceived extent of these tendencies.

I agree. The amount that women are better at those things is probably VERY small and frankly, it doesn't matter all that much

Muscle strength is largely irrelevant in modern society and dementia usualy sets in after a person's productive life. On the other hand, the advantages women have over men are very relevant in todays society.

Well, you'd need to separate people from the way society treats them because of their gender for this study.  Which would be almost completely impossible.
What would the use of that be? You can't do those studies in a vacuum because people don't live in a vacuum.

Really? Muscle strength doesn't matter. You're right. Being strong enough to defend yourself isn't important.

This is the 21 century.

We have police officers with guns for that.

The police ARE NOT meant to protect you. That was the decision the Supreme Court came up with. Of course we do have guns. (At least where I live.)

Because police are omnipresent, incorruptible, fearless, and always carry guns.

Is this meant to be the police?  Because there have been several instances of British police shooting people in the news recently.

That is sickeningly true.

I don't think there would be many who'd go: Whoa that guy's strong, he'll be successful in life, while there are far more who think "That girl's smart, she's going to make one hell of a career"

So, every problem is solved with fist fights where you come from?
