Interesting to note is that having too many Y chromosomes damages your brain development, and having too many X chromosomes just makes you sterile.

So, really, this whole feminist thing has been turned upside down on its head. It is now clear to me that women are biologically and intellectually inferior and only good for breeding.

God has spoken, we may not close this thread.

Here here!

Just goes to show I never do my research before I post things here.

Then again, none of us really do.
... Wait... WHAT?

Well, generally the human race needs an X and a Y chromosome to function. Without the Y chromosome, we wouldn't have any males, which would most likely lead to extinction from lack of, you know, ability to have children. Plus, without any males, who would we have to rely on to drive or play sports?

Kidding aside, there's no possible way to have a YY human without creating an eldritch abomination. The X chromosome simply is too important and provides so many functions that without it, human development wouldn't be possible. The only major function that the Y chromosome provides is development of the testes (to the best of my knowledge.) It's functions are actually being phased out slowly, and at the current rate of decay, the Y chromosome could disappear in 10 million years. It's doubtful it'll ever phase out, but it's interesting information nevertheless.

Actually, since the Y chromosome's main function is the development of the male sex organs, what would a YY human look like?

Oh god.

Actually, for both XXX and XYY you get normal sexual and physical development most of the time.  To the extent that you could have it and not realise.  I mean, XYY is not very rare at all - 1 in 1000 boys.

And that's before you even get into XXY or XY females (again, if you had it, you probably wouldn't notice).

I'm of the postmodern school of thought that believes that genders are socially constructed. If you dress up a male baby in pink, nobody will know that it's a male, and people will treat it differently. So I actually do think there are differences between the male and female gender, but it's something we've constructed over our lifetimes, and does not have anything to do with how fast the sperm cells were.
So you don't believe that hormones and brain chemistry in general have any influence on personality? Now, I'm no psychologist, but I'm pretty sure they're a bigger part of one's behaviour than higher mental functions. It's why drugs work.

Because no one likes America.

I'm glad I don't live in a barbaric country that practices universal mutilation of male babies.
