make an ammo-carrier that has a fix'd cold temperature (not freezing though or you've got problems in the wrong spectrum

You could have non-tangable projectile weapons do very little damage on there own, but the projectile is super heated, therefor doing burning damage.
The problems would be you would burn while carrying them around.

I have an idea, and I will be back here in a week to ask something of you, and with any luck your mod will be out by then, and this will be splended. I think you will like it, I sure do.

however I am going away today and wont be back till sonday and during those hours modding would be somwhat deffacult however i am close to finishing it i work on it in peices

You know you can release the mod in small steps right? Like idk, "small mod, scifi booze for ur fort" then "small mod, fanciful stuff everywhere" etc before you get it all together and release as a major mod. Releasing early give you some sort of milestone and keep you going as well as eventually get people interested to play test and give feedback to your mod.

Well you see that may work however I work on what i feel like working on and do to this method of editing I dont complete it in steps the only thing that is ready to be ported out is the monster roster everything else is in the final steps of completion and i still have to do languages unique for every species.

Obviously you are a man on a mission. On a great, ambitious mission too from what I see. And since I know how long it can take if you start making something from scratch, I can only nod sagely and say that I know your pain.

Looks like you have everything thought up already, but I have to ask, those underwater aliens? I thought DF currently doesn't want to work properly even if you have an amphibious race to control, in Fort mode I mean. They just don't path through water or do any work anymore a normal dwarf would.

I have yet to test it however in the passed i have found my dwarfs trapped underwater or passing through it out of fear or necessity from time to time i am not sure if they will be willing to take a dip however if they do they should be safe and able to out swim any predator
