Does anyone else here ever have those moments...
« on: December 14, 2010, 09:11:25 pm »

...when thinking about dwarf fortress where you go, HOLY FUCK! Dwarf fortress is getting very close to being an accurate simulation of one fourth of a whole planet, with civilizations, trade, wars... All done by one man in four or five years...

How long has it taken them to get Duke Nukem Forever finished?

I think I'm calling in sick tommorow, I need to play me some dwarf fortress.

Now do you think about what will happen in a years time? I get way too excited when I think about how much progress could be made in a year.

Live long if you can, and prosper by any means necessary.  Any means, Urist.  So pull that lever, or by Armok, I'll lock you outside come next siege.
He who plays with dwarves must take care that he does not become a dwarf.  And when you stare into DwarfFort, Dwarffort stares back into you.

Ever since I first read the new devlist I've been of the opinion that Adventure mode will strongly resemble an ASCII Elder Scrolls game when the list is finished.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

The worldgen is already a good bit like Daggerfall. Other than that, I don't see the connection.

All the stuff you'll be able to do under the "Adventurer roles" sections, mostly.

And at the begining of your quest, an old guy will be like 'It's dangerous to go alone. Take this.'

When I try to explain the new combat system to my friends, I compare it to the crime simulator in Bones.

If this was possible (without putting the USB in your brain and dying  :-\ ) I would never see the light of day again.  :D
